Hello everyone!

About the article: I have read so many forums where people are freaking out and think poorly of themselves based on their grades, situation, etc. Check it out for a mental confidence booster! My name is Dusty, and I'm starting this topic because I haven't seen any conversations started for Cohort 60 starting October 10, 2019. If I missed a thread already made, please let me know so I can hop over to that one. If not, then please introduce yourself so we can all get to know and help each other out! Look forward to meeting you all :)

Hi! I'm also applying for the October 2019 cohort! Nice to meet everyone!

Hi jc, just saw this. Hopefully as time moves forward, more people jump on here. How is your application process coming along? I am taking the TEAS at SDSU tomorrow, and then playing the waiting game for the essay (or rumored interview).

Hi Dusty! I actually just submitted my application last night after my final grade posted. I took the TEAS last year so I just need to prepare for the essay portion. Good luck!!! SDSU was actually a very relaxed, no-pressure environment when I took the TEAS there so don't stress. What do you mean "rumored interview"?

Awesome, and thank you! I just submitted my application as well. I was reading throughout various forums for NU on this site about a rumored Interview. However, I believe the essay requirement hasn't changed since none of the info NU website is putting out has changed. Maybe they are confusing it with the CRNA program they are just starting up.

That's interesting, I hadn't heard anything about that. I have read about the essay portion having some personal prompts. My advisor said that it was intended to check your writing skills, but also your personality to determine if you're a good candidate. I guess in that way it kind of does act as an interview. Let me know how your TEAS goes tomorrow!

I just finished the Teas, and I scored an overall 85.3%. I forgot what the average acceptance scores were when displayed during the nursing forum, but I hope mine is high enough!

Congrats! Was it as bad as you thought it would be? What is your math/science GPA?

My stats:

GPA: 3.75

TEAS: 94%

If I calculated correctly, I think I have 75.1 points without the essay. I think the cutoff for cohort 57 or 58 was 85.47 (that's what I have in my notes). Now we just have the essay!

Thanks, science, and reading got me the most. Out of the science, it was the scientific theory questions, not the A&P. Your TEAS is UP THERE, nice!

My stats:

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 85.3

Looking at 74.12. The GPA consists of only the 4 math/science courses, right? A&P1, A&P2, Biomed Stats, and Micro. Looks like we are rowing in the same boat, now to wait for the essay. I think the essay is based on 4 points for every 1 out of 5 you receive. Theoretically, all we need is 3/5 on the essay and that puts us at 86 points for the floor. (we def need a sanity buffer lol)

That’s a great TEAS score! Do you have any tips on studying? I’m at 84% and really need to get it up to high 80s ?

Hi everybody,

I'm also applying to Cohort 60. Right now I'm reviewing my lecture notes and will be taking the TEAS again in a couple of weeks. My first score was 92.5% but I think I know what I did wrong so hopefully I can improve it.

I think it's great we can bounce ideas off each other. Hopefully we can all get through this!

Hi NU_Cohorter, thanks for joining us!
