Hello Pre-Nursing Students! I thought I'd start a new thread since the application deadline for Cohort 66 is only few months away.
I plan on applying for November 2020 deadline. I recently transferred from a community college and will be taking BST 322 and ILR 260 with NU. I will also be taking the TEAS by October. Please feel free to share your stats: GPA, TEAS, work experience, second degree (if any).

My counselor let me know about that for you guys too, super bummed for you guys and us, Our application was suppose to end Friday now it’s extended all the way til February ? I’m not sure why they couldn’t just accept people and push back the start date. My anxiety is gonna be so high the next three months ?

Thank you for keeping us informed. It's unfortunate to hear that everything will be delayed, but at the end of the day, as long as you're in, you're in good shape.
For those that applied for 66 already, the Nursing Department should have sent an email to your school email regarding the postponement of the application deadline. The new deadline is February 12th, 2021. What that means for the applicant pool? Who knows. I was starting to think they postponed our application because NU didn't get enough applications to fill the seats. I wonder, and am concerned now, what that will mean if normally 200 or so people apply each application cycle...
Hi guys!
I’m in cohort 60 currently at NU! Just wanted to fill you guys in bc I know the anxiety you all must feel. The postponement with your start date and application date is because clinical sites have been paused or are few to none lately due to COVID. A lot of cohorts are still waiting to get into hospitals to complete courses. Some may even have to take a leave of absence until clinical sites open up. So they’re just catching up with existing cohorts before they get y’all started up.
Since many nursing programs are on hold or cancelled all together at other schools, I’m sure the Nationals program actually has triple the amount of applicants! Enjoy your time off while it lasts!

I just talked to my friend. She will begin her RN program at Azusa in January. The program will begin on time, but all clinicals will be delayed. At least they will begin! I'm so disappointed that our Cohort will be delayed. ?
Hi OlgaFutureRN,
I feel your disappointment and frustration about Cohort 66 being postponed/delayed an additional 3 months. I feel like it particularly hurts just because we received notice a few days prior to the original application deadline. We busted our butts off trying to get all our ducks in a row prior to the deadline and now all we can do is wait and pray that there will be no further delay.
I emailed my advisor on Thursday and so far, there's no indication that Cohort 66 will have more seats, even though 66 has combined two application cycles basically. It makes sense, but it makes me nervous. It's unsettling to know that the number of applicants will be larger than ever and there's only 53 seats offered. All we can do at this point is accept that we did all we can to be considered competitive and be patient. Here's to hoping we all get in!

My advisor said that there will be 53 seats. No more. I decided to take exta prerequisites in order to apply to other nursing programs. However, as I understand, San Marcos, San Diego City, San Diego State, and Point Loma delayed their applications too. We will see!

Yes! It feels like forever since November. Hoping this forum becomes more active with the deadline approaching
