Has anyone heard of this program? Fairly affordable, but a new program. Another Q, does it matter if it's a new program? Also, is it risky?

it really depends on you-I personally did not want to go to a newer program for fear of things not being quite ironed out yet. what with teachers (are they all new), clinicals (are they all in place? are you getting great experience of a wide variety etc?), etc...it was too much a risk for me. but some programs that i stumbled across during my search had 100% board pass rate their first number of years-which is great. but everything else was too much a question mark for me.

Yes I have heard of this program. New programs are always risky because you never know how things are laid out, how well the didactics are and what type of experiences the SRNAs get while in clinical. This program however looks to be one of the better programs out there. I say this because the PD is well known to the nurse anesthetist community. He works as and with independent CRNAs so the program will train independent CRNAs to the full scope of practice.
Thank you! Will sure look into this one.

has anyone interviewed for a crna program at national universtiy fresno, california? how were the questions? clinical or personal?any suggestions on what to prepare for ?
I would be prepared for any type question. Be prepared when they ask the population you take care for, they may ask your typical work shift, what gtts are typical in your unit. I would look at the threads here about interview questions & practice from there. Good luck to you!!!!
Regarding about this program, I only know one person that got accepted & he was the first cohort. I didn't know him personally, he was a traveller in my hospital. I heard he got accepted in this program through the grapevine. Let us know how it is here & share your experience :)

An Truthful review of National university and its CRNA program
I am a current student in this program, and I feel an intense obligation to warn other nurses about the dangers of attending this program.
Simply put, this program runs a scam.
From the second quarter you are bombarded with test questions that no one can pass. Your failing grades are matinculously documented and the director is painting a picture behind your back that the reason everyone failed was due to their own fault. The catch is AFTER you fail, you are given a "secret second chance" in which the director or other shadow people will offer you a secret rescue deal. This is the chance to continue in the program and graduate if you agree to become their "little puppet".
This means you are not an independent practice nurse in the sense they someone above you owns you. For your entire career. What to expect? A reduced salary, constant threats of revealing that you "failed" the program and they will try to claim that you cheated your way through the program.
And if you find yourself in this situation and you don't like any of this, well your options are very limited to say the least.
That brings us to the question, if the students are being blackmailed for life, who is blackmailing them? Russia? Haha. Hardly. It's a very small group of rich anesthesiologist looking to control more of the anesthesia market. They see these California independent nurses as a threat to their biz. So what better way to control the opposition than to lead them directly! Many of the graduates of this school are very active and "volunteer" to petition at the state level for advanced crna rights. These students are being lead secretly by this anesthesia cabal.
Does all of this sound crazy?? You bet it does! I know because this is the mess I'm in because I attended this school!
Please please please, do not attend this program under any circumstances. This is coming from a current student. No I am not a troll, a "problem student", a crazy person or anything other than a whistleblower trying to warn other people about this school. There are many other students just like myself at this school. I am just brave enough to try to warn others.

Who is teaching the courses which have the impossible questions? How can the anesthesiologists have power over the students?

Hi there,
Just wanted to say that I have had nothing but a good experience with National University. I did have a couple of calls to their program coordinator and an e-mail or two where I asked the program director (Dr. Tune) a couple of questions regarding the application process. I felt all the interactions and e-mail responses were both professional and timely, and ultimately completed an application for this program.
