Roll call, who's applying to NU San Diego Cohort 54?
I started my journey 6 months ago. Completing Microbiology this month, then TEAS prep and proctored essay practice. GPA will likely between 3.4-3.7 so going to work hard for a strong TEAS result. Would love to start to get to know some of our fellow future nurses.
Mr_Edwino I knew and know what I needed for my essay. I didnt have either of those prompts nor was it anything about wanting to be a nurse, and I used my experience as a flight medic and ER tech too but thanks.
Oh so you got 5/5, I didn't know that. That's cool, I didn't do as well on mine. Good luck for '55!
No, I wish I had or else I would be in. I was just saying I was going for as many points as possible and I tried :) I even did what you suggested and i still scored pretty low. I think my prompt threw me off a little, it wasn't the typical "why do you want to be a nurse" etc. Maybe I'll do better on the next one because I wont be stressing about my TEAS after, and I'll know what to expect.

You should make use of the writing center also. One of the tutors was able to give me some prompts that have been used in the past, so I'm using those to practice. If you want I can email it to you. I'm going to do the TEAS again as well and aim for a higher score.
My prompt wasn't the typical "why do you want to be a nurse," as well. But I do know that that was one of the prompts students had to write for this cohort. My prompt was somewhere along the lines of describing an instance on how a relationship/conflict had changed you. Which was not easy to make into a normal 5 paragraph essay. I didn't list my body points in my first paragraph and I made it more of a story with background and changing paragraphs when I jumped into a new idea. It was a lot more challenging of a prompt than I anticipated and was way off course from what I heard the other prompts were. I had no idea if I was doing it right but I ended up getting a 3.5/5. These prompts are no joke and the time frame makes it even more challenging. Best of luck to you! I don't doubt you will get into 55 keep up the good work!!

Wow, that is a tricky one. I really feel like the essay portion of the admission criteria really separates National University from the other schools, and probably makes it one of the most difficult to get into now. The GPAs and Teas scores posted here are almost all competitive with the SDSU candidates'; and they don't even have to write an essay at state! Good luck to you guys applying for '55.
P.S.: I have a teas VI study manual that I no longer need if anyone is interested, just pm me.
I am part of cohort 54! I'm excited, but I'm a bit anxious because I feel like I'm constantly digging for more info/deadlines/dates etc. It's not completely laid out for you like the state schools I was used to!! In fact, does anyone know exactly the dates doe cohort 54? the start and end date?
Hi Everyone, Im applying for Cohort 55 and taking my TEAS and essay this week. For those of you who have taken the essay, can you elaborate a little on why Elizabeth said it needs to be APA format? If it is a personal essay that we aren't doing research and citing sources for, what aspects of APA will apply?
