National University Cohort 67 San Diego

Published

Hello Pre-Nursing Students!

Despite Cohort 67 being quite a bit away, I figure I start up a thread early for those of us that are eager.

I plan on applying for the May 2021 deadline. I just knocked out BST 322 and am taking ILR 260 with NU this next coming month!

I just took the TEAS and came out with a 85.3!

Please feel free to share your stats: GPA, TEAS, work experience, second degree (if any).

For those of us who already made it through and ended up on this thread, any insight would be awesome on what to expect!

Hey guys! My name is Amber Kim. I'm apart of Cohort 60 at NU (we graduate in 3 months).

I wanted to let you know I'm here if you guys have any questions or need advice!

Let me know if you need anything! Message me here, on facebook @Amber Kim or instagram @amberjkim_ (whichever is easiest) ❤️

I have a 3.5  GPA and 94.7% on the TEAS!

I was replying to your question if you have good stats yes you you do. I was denied with a 3.65 and 88.7 TEAS an interview to cohort 66 I was just saying if you want to be super competitive. Your points are right where interviews for cohort 66 cut off. I’m sure cohort 67 won’t be as competitive. I know someone with a 3.4 and 90 TEAS was also denied an interview to cohort 66.I am retaking A&P 1 and lab which is what’s making my prereq GPA lower 3.6 to be more competitive for this cohort.

Thank you so much! We appreciate you.

@AA94 I got a 90% on my TEAS and I had a 3.75 GPA. Our cohort was the last cohort with the Essay so that won't really pertain to you guys. As far as I know, every cohort's cutoff is slightly different. It goes off everyone else who is applying. Example: If everyone applying has really really high scores, it'll obviously be harder to get in. Whereas if the majority of the people applying have mediocre scores, it'll essentially be "easier", aka the cutoff is a little lower.  Obviously, play it safe and get the best scores you can so you are a competitive candidate.

What was your TEAS score if you don't mind me asking?

Seems competitive to me! 94.7 TEAS is awesome.

And remember, they only look at your sciences and other two (or 3??) Prereqs as your GPA. It's NOT your cumulative GPA. IDK if you knew that already... some people didn't.

Thank you Amber, yes. They only look at Science and math GPA!

Hello future nurses,

I'm a refugee from a cohort 66?. It was an insane and super competitive cohort. I got the interview, but my application was denied. However, a representative from a nursing department highly encourages me to apply again because if they didn't reduce the cohort, I would be in. I wish all of you good luck, and I hope to see you in October?

Applying to cohort 67!! (The may 2021 deadline)

stats: GPA 4.0 TEAS 86

My brain keeps going back and forth daily like oh I’ll get in. Oh no I won’t. OK I think I will. OK nope probably not.

I just can’t wait for this application process to be over with!! I am so stressed I could retire!! LOL good luck everyone!??

Hello everyone!

I just found this page today thank goodnesss because I have been looking for something like this for a while now!

Currently for math/science my grades are:

A&P 1: A

A&P1 lab: A

A&P 2: B-

A&P lab: B

Microbiology: B

Microbiology lab: A

Biostats (will take in May)

SO, I would like anyone and everyone to be blunt with me and let me know if you think I should retake any classes....I have noticed a lot of people getting in the nursing program have high GPAs, and I am happy for you all but at the same time a little worried about mine...I just want to apply with the best grades possible.

Thank you!! ?

Hi there, nice to meet you.

We have very similar grades!

When are you planning to apply? Biomedical statistics is a one month course! The application deadline is May 14.

I honestly don't think you should retake anything! Your grades are pretty good.

Have you taken your TEAS yet?

Best of luck!

Nice to meet you! thanks for responding ?

I plan on applying for the August cohort...I haven't even taken the TEAS test yet because I did not know that was required until my advisor told me last month (I am a transfer student from Weber State University, UT)

It seems like everyone's GPAs are higher so I feel like I need to retake A&P 2 and maybe more....I don't know, definitely starting to stress about it!
