National University BSN Program

U.S.A. California

the anticipation is killing me!! after working hard for 2 years i finally completed my application to national university for their accelerated bsn program. i took the teas 5 just over a week ago and am expecting my acceptance/rejection letter during the first week of june. even though it is just 3 weeks away, it seems like a lifetime! if i am accepted i will be joining the october 2011 cohort. anyone else going to nu during this time?

I am very curious to know the number of applicants this application period. Zeto, have you heard back from ----?

Zeto,

I'm really surprised you got denied from Grossmont. Your grades seem to be really good!! How many people apply for that program and how many do they accept? I know it's a lot cheaper than National, so there are probably more people applying. From what Ms.Kitty wrote it seems like you have a good chance of getting into National! Good Luck!!

Thanks,

Grossmont is even more competitive than NU. They also use a different point system and look at previous degrees, foreign language, and volunteer work. They are also taking 25% from their waitlist still so....

I think when I posted about my grades it was misleading. When I posted about getting A's it was in general and referrencing a post about the grading practices of CC. In my sciences I recieved mostly B+'s, and I earned a 83% on my teas. I dont feel confident about being accepted and I know I have alot riding on my essay which really makes me nervous:sniff:

I did email ---- and she got back to me very quickly about an unrelated question I had, but nothing about when we will get THE LETTER!!! Nothing today, the mailman has come and gone. If I hear anything I will let you know.

I am very curious about how many applicated there were as well, and what the average teas score was. I guess we will know soon enough. I cant say it enough GOOD LUCK, GOOD LUCK, GOOK LUCK !!!!!

83 on version 5 of the TEAS is AWESOME!!! That is really going to help you and set you aside!! I only got an 73 :( In one way I wish National did look at other things like volunteer work and letters of reccomendadtion. But it also is good they don't so it takes the "who you know" aspect out of it. Which is better I guess (because I don't know anyone) haha!

I got up and checked my mail this morning....at 7:00 AM :grn:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its gonna be a loooooooooong week

I know!!! June is finally here and I feel the anticipation growing! I check the website every few hours... Margie said the first week in June. So I'm thinking does that mean the first full week starting June 6th? haha I am looking wayyyyy too much into this.

Berrs, we are all going it! Lol. I'm expecting my letter no later than the 10th. Although that would kill me to have to actually wait that long. I was told by the test administrator that they expected only 120 applicants for this cohort because the new test was out (and cancelled all version 4 scores) and because many applicants did not have a high enough Gpa to even takethe Teas test! Over 1/3rd of applicants are expected to be accepted

WoW! Thanks for that info!! That makes me feel a lot better! (It's going to make me feel a lot worse if I don't get in) haha! I was the first group to take the TEAS for this application period so they didn't really have any info as to what scores they were seeing, or how many people had applied. At the nursing forum that also said we have to pass a physical, drug screen, pass a background check (the woman told us we would not get in with a DUI) and have health insurance to be in the program. I think that alone will really help people out as well.

I was looking at the NU website (AGAIN!!) and the deadline for cohort 29 is June 9th. Im guessing they would have to let us know if we made it into the program for cohort 28 so we have time to reapply to the next cohort. It would be nice any ways or we would have to wait till oct. another 3 months just to apply!! SO......I am spending too much time thinking of this apparently. Kitty, your info is keeping me positive thanks so much

Ok! National should not be allowed to send e-mails during this waiting period haha! I just received an e-mail from National and got all excited. And it was for something totally different. :( I hope we find out by tomorrow!

Man, thats rough. Nothing for me either. Tomorrow would be nice so we won't have to wait through the weekend.

---- still hasn't gotten back to you?
