National University BSN April 2014 Cohort

Published

Hi everyone!

I just recently applied to nursing cohort 38 starting next April in San Diego. I'm currently waiting for my teas and essay date. I'm so anxious to find out if I've been accepted or not but I've been told we probably won't find out until January or February! Is there anyone who is in the same boat as me? Hope to receive some replies on here! :)

Tahiti,

You were accepted into the program? Congrats! That is awesome :)

Hi Tahiti. I applying for July Cohort and was wondering what your total points were. I have a 4.0 in sciences and Biostats. I will get all the points for first attempt. But I haven't taken the teas or essay yet. Just wanted to see if you would mind sharing your points with me. Congrats on getting accepted.

"Accepted"!!

Congrats Tahiti!!!!!!!!

I got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats MJOHNSON !!!!.. do you mind sharing what you got on your teas and essay? Im trying to figure out what i need to score to get accepted. Do you know how many people applied to your cohort? Also what was the points accepted?

I got an 82 on my TEAS. I'll PM you what I got on the essay when I find out, but my points before the essay were just under 71. Did you apply to this cohort?

no i applied to July cohort. Super nervous though. I have all the points for GPA and attempts. Im just nervous about the teas and essay. It usually takes me 3 days to be able to write a good essay so only having an hour or so to complete really gives my anxiety.

Im happy that you got in. The stress of waiting is over !!!

What material did you use to study for the teas. I have the ATI book and Mcgraw Hill practice test. I heard the practice test are a lot more easier than the actual test. Any info on that?

I used the ATI book, McGraw-Hill. I used this outline as a guide although had I found it earlier, I probably would have done better.

I also used, chemforkids and bioforkids… silly I know but its the most plain English. I also spent the $10 McGraw Hill iPhone app. The ATI online practice tests were MUCH harder than the actual TEAS. I was scared I answered them wrong because it just seemed too easy… I got a 90 in science. I focused pretty much all of my energy into that. Give yourself plenty of study time. And its seems like an obvious thing but, actually READ every word of every question. If you don't know the material it may seem like they're tricking you, but if you know it, the correct answer seems to stick out.

I got in!!! Omg I'm so happy!!!

As promised, here are my scores: 72% teas, A's in prereq courses except for one B in Micro, I did really well in the essay but I don't know if they will release the results of that one. So overall, it's my gpa and essay that did it for me.

Congratulations to everyone that got in!!!
