Help! NCLEX question!
I live and went to school in California. I applied to the California BRN to take my NCLEX and registered with Pearson Vue. Well, I was offered a job in TN and would like to take my NCLEX out there instead. My question is: Can I have two open applications to two BRNs along with Pearson to take the NCLEX in TN, and will an official change of address to TN mess with either of them? California takes forever to do anything and since its not a compact state, I want to make sure I have my license in time to start my job. I know it would cost extra money to do the process all over again and while that sucks, I'm willing to in order to have my license verified faster through nursys. I don't want it to look like there are duplicates of things and have everything get held up somewhere (I'm thinking this will be more on California's end).

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Summer 2016
Hi everyone! I am also applying. I will be graduating at the end of this month so I hope its enough time to get my ATT and license before August! (I'm coming from California, and CA's BRN takes a minute to process stuff and transfer since its not a compact state.) Hope to get to know you all throughout this application process, and good luck!

National University BSN program starting May 2014 @Los Angeles campus
That sounds like it would be true. And I don't know of any alternates that are FOR SURE in the program, I just know of the one accepted that deferred. So just know that there's a spot open!

I know that someone from my cohort deferred their spot so I would assume the first alternate on the list was contacted. We're you still given all the information about orientation and all the emails about the program so far? If someone doesn't show up to orientation on Tuesday, they are automatically withdrawn from the program. So I would assume alternates would have to be informed of the procedures, right? I do know that some alternates were getting CPR/AED certified along with members of my cohort. I have my fingers crossed for you!

- Can I still apply with a very low GPA?
There is more than just an entrance exam to National University. They require GPA minimum for core sciences, and entrance exam (TEAS), and a timed essay. Everything is based on a point system where how many times you attempted a course count against you, so, if you completed them all once with passing grades, you get full points for that part. It's a private school so it's expensive but similar in cost to a 4 years in half the time. It's extremely accelerated. One course per month aside for Med-Surg and a few other classes.- National University BSN program starting May 2014 @Los Angeles campus
Hi guys, I was accepted into SD Cohort 38 that starts in 2 months. I got an 82 TEAS, all points for attempts, 26(?) points for GPA, and a 4.5 on the essay. There's a huge range of scores accepted to any cohort, but it does feel better to judge your against someone who got in.... I was right there with you just a couple months ago. Hope this helps! Good luck!- National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
Hi tadavis944! I can't wait until orientation and school to start to get to know everyone more. Also, if you choose to create a Facebook, we would love to have you a part of the Facebook group! See you at orientation!!!- National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
Hi, Walker!!! Join our Facebook group so we can all get to know each other better!- National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
Search on Facebook for either: melanie.johnson.182 (I'm in a Chargers jersey...) Or the group: NU Cohort 38- National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
They said they would email out official acceptance info in a couple days. I keep checking the portal though. And for the scores, it will be in the portal in a week or so. I think the orientation is a month before? I have no idea. I tried asking my friend who's in the program but she can't remember, her brain is fried from the past 18 months! Where do we get malpractice insurance and does anyone have Medi-Cal for medical? I'm already swimming in debt from student loans, what's another $200/mo? :/- National University BSN April 2014 Cohort
