Looks like as nurses, we will be held to a professional standard, similar to other professionals.
"Nurses are urged to recognize that dissemination of misinformation not only jeopardizes the health and well-being of the public but may place their license and career in jeopardy as well.”
I am Interested to see if this is enforced.

Love this part!
"Any nurse who violates their state nurse practice act or threatens the health and safety of the public through the dissemination of misleading or incorrect information pertaining to COVID-19, vaccines and associated treatment through verbal or written methods including social media may be disciplined by their board of nursing. Nurses are urged to recognize that dissemination of misinformation not only jeopardizes the health and well-being of the public, but may place their license and career in jeopardy as well."

I wouldn’t be surprised if a visit to the AN Covid boards over the last 6 months drove the decision for this new statement…

Yeah this is dangerous. This pretty much means that you can not stray from the approved narrative. It's best to post references when you do so to back up your comments with scientific literature. Unless the national organization doesn't want us to use evidence based practice anymore.

I am a fan. You still have the right to disseminate whatever crap you want, you just can't use your RN credential. Except on anonymous forums. And, of course no nursing board can regulate non-nurses, so any knucklehead can make up credentials and post on a nursing forum claiming to be a nurse, and not be violating anything.
