Hey guys! I know it’s kinda early, but I figured that I’d start a thread for the NCC Nursing applicants for Fall 2021. Here we can post our stats, discuss the program and freak out together while waiting for admissions decisions? here’s what my stats look like:
I took the TEAS this year (end of May 2020) and got a 77.3%. However, I’m retaking it in July for a more competitive, and hopefully an advanced/exemplary score!
Prerequisites that I completed (all from Suffolk CC):
Anatomy/Phys I: B
Anatomy/Phys II: B
ENG 101: B+
ENG 102 (Literature): A
Lifespan Dev: B
Modern American Hist: C
Psych: A
Statistics: A
Sociology: B
Western Civ: B
Medical Micro and Biomedical Ethics: To be completed during the Fall 2020 semester
Pathophysiology: To be completed during the Spring 2021 semester (hopefully!)
The only disadvantage I have right now is that I currently live in Suffolk County. I know that priority is given to Nassau residents, and I’m not really sure how the school calculates their admissions decisions (and I couldn’t find a rubric on the website). I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you, and hopefully we‘ll all be in Nursing school together one day!!
Hello all!
I have been doing nothing but freaking out about getting in. I also applied to Adelphi but I really want to go to Nassau’s program. I have had nothing but a wonderful experience at Nassau and I use the daycare for my daughter. After this semester I will have all of the non-nurses classes done besides the empire college classes.
My grades for prerequisites:
Eng composition 1 - A
Statistics - A
Anatomy 1 - B+
Anatomy 2 - A
Biomedical Ethics - A
Psych 1 and 2 - A
Taking this currently : Pathophysiology, Medical Microbiology, English 2 (Honors), and Spanish 2 (just for full time credit and if I needed to apply to stony brook you need two languages)
TEAS: 73.3- reading 80.9, math 65.6, science 78.7, and English language 66.7. This test was very hard for me. Hope it’s good enough to get in.
Good luck everyone!
(I was told end of April when I applied on 3/10)
Congrats! There is a NCC group of students in the program.
Just now, Future RN Jacy said:Congratulations to those accepted. I'm staying positive hoping I'll get an answer by Friday.
I called yesterday since I’m still waiting on a decision too, she asked for my ID number and she said my app was still under consideration and that more decisions could be sent now until early May. Keeping my fingers crossed for us!
