Hey guys! I know it’s kinda early, but I figured that I’d start a thread for the NCC Nursing applicants for Fall 2021. Here we can post our stats, discuss the program and freak out together while waiting for admissions decisions? here’s what my stats look like:
I took the TEAS this year (end of May 2020) and got a 77.3%. However, I’m retaking it in July for a more competitive, and hopefully an advanced/exemplary score!
Prerequisites that I completed (all from Suffolk CC):
Anatomy/Phys I: B
Anatomy/Phys II: B
ENG 101: B+
ENG 102 (Literature): A
Lifespan Dev: B
Modern American Hist: C
Psych: A
Statistics: A
Sociology: B
Western Civ: B
Medical Micro and Biomedical Ethics: To be completed during the Fall 2020 semester
Pathophysiology: To be completed during the Spring 2021 semester (hopefully!)
The only disadvantage I have right now is that I currently live in Suffolk County. I know that priority is given to Nassau residents, and I’m not really sure how the school calculates their admissions decisions (and I couldn’t find a rubric on the website). I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you, and hopefully we‘ll all be in Nursing school together one day!!

Thanks
I ended up taking it at ESC just to get it out of the way. I believe NCC won’t take any other transfer Western Civ classes because usually those are 3 credits when they are looking for a 4 credit class.

I believe it's an A is worth 4 points, a B is worth 3 points, and a C is worth 2 points and than you multiple by the number of credits the class was. Ex: Statistics A = 4 points * 3 credits = 12 points.
If you're a Nassau resident you get +10 points and if you've never been in a nursing program you get +5 points.
With the TEAS, I'm not 100% certain. In an older thread, someone stated that they were awarding points based on each section separately, but I don't know for certain.
Ex: Proficient= 5 (58.7-77.3%), advanced= 10 points (78.0-90.0%), and exemplary = 15 points (90.7-100.0%)
Hey everyone!
Applying to the Fall 2021 NCC nursing program. I have a 3.8 GPA and am not a Nassau resident. After this semester, I will have nearly all of the non-nursing classes done with mostly A's but I'm in progress right now with A&P2, Western Civ., lifespan dev., and biomedical ethics (I'm hoping the fact that these are 'in progress' will not affect my chances of getting in). I have a 76 on the TEAS which I'm slightly worried about- but if they are letting students in the way they did last semester, the amount of classes you have done is dominant over your TEAS score.
Good luck to everyone applying! This will not be the first time I've applied to their nursing program, but my stats have improved since the last time I applied so my fingers are crossed!
