Nassau Community College Fall 2015

Published

Hey guys I'm just starting another thread for the Fall semester, because it seemed the past threads were very helpful. I also had a few questions and wanted to see what other people's opinions were on my chances of getting into the program. Feel free to share your thoughts, questions, etc!

I am a Suffolk County resident and not a student at NCC. Will this hinder my chances of getting in? I've read in previous posts I would be losing out on several points because of this? I rather have you guys be 100% honest than as opposed to giving me hope. As far as my grades it's as follows...

Anatomy and Physiology I: B+ (3.5 Suffolk Community College)

Statistics: B+ (3.333 Syracuse University)

English 101: A- ( 3.7 Stonybrook University)

Psych 101: A (4.0 Suffolk Community College)

TEAS V: 84.1 Advanced (I believe this was 94-95% percentile)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Sergeena. I am sorry that you didn't get in, I don't know if you are interested on LPN because there is hunter business school who will accept your teas result.

I was accepted to Nassau community college as an international student, was issue my I-20, my problem is the placement test. I don't want to fail, can anyone advised me about the test...

Don't know anything about the placement test. You can either Google to get an idea or call the school and ask what its about and the difficulty of the test. Good luck.

Thanks, will called the school tomorrow for information.

Hi Empress111,

if you are referring to the entrance exam when you first apply to NCC its basic algebra/trigonometry, English/reading and writing.

Go to this link for some practice questions right off the NCC page:

Also,

Anyone who had advisement today how did it go? Give us details :)

Thanks ,Mssjdm for the links...

Today went fine at advisement. Basically they hand you your file with paperwork to fill out and chairman goes over it with you, talks about the uniforms and textbooks. Then you go one on one with a faculty member and go over your transcript to make sure you know what classes you have left to graduate. Then you can walk over to registrar to hand in the change of program and register for the fall. Easy took about an hour and a half.

Do you get assigned a section at registration or do you have your choice of sections to register for?

Yes, you can choose after they change your major at the registrar. I am on B1 at south Nassau hospital if there is anyone let me know.

Do you know what the options for hospitals are? I'm from Michigan originally so I'm doing my research of where all the hospitals are compared to where I live. lol. Thanks in advance!
