Nassau Community College Fall 2015

Published

Hey guys I'm just starting another thread for the Fall semester, because it seemed the past threads were very helpful. I also had a few questions and wanted to see what other people's opinions were on my chances of getting into the program. Feel free to share your thoughts, questions, etc!

I am a Suffolk County resident and not a student at NCC. Will this hinder my chances of getting in? I've read in previous posts I would be losing out on several points because of this? I rather have you guys be 100% honest than as opposed to giving me hope. As far as my grades it's as follows...

Anatomy and Physiology I: B+ (3.5 Suffolk Community College)

Statistics: B+ (3.333 Syracuse University)

English 101: A- ( 3.7 Stonybrook University)

Psych 101: A (4.0 Suffolk Community College)

TEAS V: 84.1 Advanced (I believe this was 94-95% percentile)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi does NCC offer the night classes in spring ?

hi.. Do you know if you are able to change from day to night? im hopeful that after my long journey of prereqs I will be accepted for 2016 but it will be tough to do the day program... hoping I can switch to nights .. Do you know if I have to physically go to NCC to talk to someone in the nursing dept or will they talk to me over the phone? I cant make it there without taking off from work :(

I believe that spring semester only has day classes but if you apply for fall 2016 you can apply for the evening program.

Didn't check out blackboard. Can you give a link and or tell me what it's about.

How they conduct spring classes are a bit different from those in fall. Call and speak to someone from the office just to be certain.

Sign into your portal and click the black board icon. Once your in the blackboard website look through the my courses box and find "CMN-NUR-RTM_SU15: NURSING RETENTION THROUGH MENTORING (SUMMER 2015)"

Nur 101 has videos on vital signs, medication administration, calculating infusion rates and iv maintenance. They have put up case studies and abbreviations as well. You should log in and check it out!

Thank you! Will do asap!

Good luck guys!!! I just graduated from NCC. it was not easy..... Prepare well!!!!

Has anyone bought the 3 required textbooks yet? If so, did you get the from NCC or elsewhere?

I did. The first 2 on the list is a combo at $280 that needs binders and a small manual at 50 something. Purchased at the bookstore.

Hi all just wondering if anyone noticed that when you log into your NCC account and look at the calendar it states that nursing orientation is on the 24th but in our packets it states its on the 27th. Any thoughts!?

I saw it and I called them yesterday she said it is on the 27th not 24th and she doesn't know why they put 24 online.
