I think the higher pay for males is a fish tale because that would be a prove able gender/sex discrimination and a lawsuit filed against the hospital. The economy is bad, but that is no excuse to break the law.

"His reported shift diffs are inaccurate so it's likely the pay rates are too."
Emmy...j/c how do you know I'm inaccurate when you live in Florida?
Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. I was just reporting what I saw and what I heard when I worked there.

I've never heard of it. All the females I know got around $21 new grad pay some even $22 before differentials.

Men are more likely to ask for a higher pay rate. Most hospitals are a little flexible, but a lot in Tennessee are set on their starting salaries regardless of race/gender/age.

St Thomas West or Midtown (formally Baptist):
ADN/BSN $20/hr (just increased over the past weeks)
Weekends $3.25
Nights $3.75
Couple of questions..
Anyone know what an LPN graduate would get working in a corrections facility in the Nashville area?
At the VA are their schedule 8 hour shifts?? So basically 5 days a week? And what kinda shift do they do, 8-5 etc etc.
What about working for a insurance company doing quality assurance? Does anyone know what they make?
Thank you in advance..
