I have varicose veins their barely noticeable. I work in a floor + lots of standing you know how that goes. My legs throb so bad at times I have trouble sleeping at night.
Elevating them when I get home does not help. I do ankle pump exercise while at work. I tried wearing ted hose while working and those long long tube socks but they stick to my pant leg uniform. FYI: I have to wear whites.
Does anyone have this problem also. I'm suffering here.. I am off and got my Ace Wraps on which helps when I am home.

Why don't you get them laser closed? I did, and my insurance paid for most of it. Mine were really really bad.

Static-Guard. It works. So does fabric softener. Or you could wear a long skirt with a nylon slip.

Wear light support hose under scrubs... no one cares what your scrub pants look like - your nursing skills are their main focus. In the past I have worn support hose, which definitely does not enhance ones uniform - but I received no detrimental comments. Alternatively, you could invest in a pair of MBT shoes (or maybe a copy), which I have been wearing all the time at work for five years - no more throbbing veins, lower back ache or leg ache at the end of a busy med/surge shift.

Did the laser thing too, EVLT. It was a Godsend, although to be honest, the procedure itself was a bit freaky. It does not hurt at all, but it's a little weird. Then again, I had a paradoxical reaction to the Valium -- it made me hyper -- so that may have been why I hated it so much. Anyway -- if your veins hurt that bad they probably need to be fixed. My insurance paid for it. Good luck!!

What Sue said.
Keep a few sheets of unscented Bounce somewhere. Put on your knee-hi teds, and then rub that area well with the Bounce. If they still try to make your pants ride up, get some longer length pants enough to slouch on top of your shoe a bit.
someone mentioned MBT shoes. I have to look that one up. I wear Skechers
my facility floor is carpeted and I think are comfortable. I am def. going to get
more info on getting them treated. They r worst during PMS.
