Hello All,
First, I just want to thank everyone for their support while I have prepared for the NCLEX LVN. I could not have done it without your support and this website. I took the NCLEX LVN last Thursday and it was the biggest day of my life besides my wedding day. I had prepared for 3 months (2-3 hours a day) since graduating from nursing school.
The days leading up to the big test, I took a trial run to the test site to make sure I knew exactly where it was located. The day of the test, I gave myself enough time in case of any unforeseen mishaps. As I was driving to the test site, I felt a bit anxious but tried to remain calm and collected. Next thing I know, Bam! The unexpected happened! I ended up getting a flat tire on the freeway. Of all days to get a flat tire, that day happened to be the day. Then the anxiety started to kick in. I tried to remain calm and figure out a solution. I was fortunate enough to get the flat tire fixed and get to the test site 30 minutes prior to the required check in time. Fortunately, the test site was located next to a church, so I had the opportunity to say a prayer at the church before arriving. At this point, I was able to eliminate the tension that was building up since getting the flat tire. I was focused and ready to take the test.
As I sat down to take the NCLEX, I took a deep breath and focused all my attention to the test and nothing but the test. I ended up getting about 4-5 infx control questions, 4-5 priority questions, 3-4 medications, and only one math question. My test stopped at 85. Once the test ended, I felt relieved and confident. What a great feeling! A few days later, I started questioning my answers and now have become less confident. Now, I am just waiting for the results. Does anyone know how long it takes California to get the results back to you? I have heard that they are averaging up to 4 weeks. Also, what type of letter or envelope should I look for? Is a small white envelope = good and a larger envelope = bad? Just wondering if there are some LVN's that have taken the NCLEX in California can answer these questions for me.
Well, that was my NCLEX story. I am trying to stay positive until I get the results. Unfortunately, it seems that this is all that I can think about. Again, thank you for all the support and guidance that you have given me. I hope that in 4 weeks I can officially call myself an LVN! I will keep you all posted. BTW, I am thinking of changing my handle to Flat Tire. Best of luck to all upcoming NCLEX takers.
