My dream job was tainted and just ruined by racist comments. I am a blonde with blue eyes white nurse that had to put up with racial comments on being called whitey, certain comments that whites are racists. These were doctors an fellow black associates. I just got tired of it and quit. Racism goes both ways and has no business being in nursing. Their are all kind of people good, bad, and just some unfixable. Please don't label, getting old.

I am so very sorry this experience happened to you. Hopefully you have the inner strength and resilience to bounce back from this setback. After all, the greatest revenge is a life well lived.
So very true. When one door closes a window opens. I am a hospice nurse now. Less stress but feel so honored on helping people pass to heaven.

Am glad to read that this setback has worked out for you. Racism goes different ways.

The notion that only Black people put up with racism is invalid. Hispanics, Asians and yes, even Caucasians put up with racism, and Blacks are just as racist as anyone else. I'm blonde, too and have been subject to many racist comments, mostly from African Americans. My Hispanic inlaws routinely call me "gringa" or "Gringita puta" or "Damned Yankee." Nevertheless, I'm sure neither you nor I has experienced anything like the racism that Blacks are routine subject to. If this was your dream job, however, I am puzzled with why you let ignorance and racism drive you away. My response has always been "I'm not willing to let someone whose opinion I don't respect keep my from being/doing/having what I chose."
I just felt spooked and afraid of after complaining would couse tention which I don't get paid enough for that
