I finally finished day 3 of my journal! Just got done working four 12's in a row, so there was a little delay between parts 2 and 3; I posted this document in 3 parts on the EPN. I'm posting this as a PDF file. Enjoy!!
Thanks for posting Lisa. I just skimmed through so forgive me if I'm wrong but, it looks like you had the Meds AOC i all of the PCS's, I thought we would only have it in one.
I had meds for every.single.patient!! The one I failed would have required five or six PO meds, too! They were med-happy at Mansfield. :) I think they tell you that you'll get meds AT LEAST one time during the PCSs, but I don't think there's a max limit. I was grateful to get meds instead of something like my biggest fear, enteral feeding! LOL
so does ec send everything for you to the bon or do you have to send anything.
nope, not yet ... probably not until next month, when ec "graduates" me and send my stuff to the virginia bon. but the first thing i'll be doing is our hospital system's emergency nursing fellowship -- lots of good training! much of it won't be new, but that's fine.
I have to send an application to the Virginia BON -- a licensure by examination application, notarized, plus $130. That's in addition to the $200 NCLEX-RN fee, but you know what? I'll happily pay it! But EC will send completed transcripts to the Virginia BON, who will then tell Pearson VUE that they can send me my ATT letter so I can schedule my NCLEX. I've already signed up with Pearson VUE and filled out most of the Virginia BON form.
EC did not send my paperwork to BON here. I had to contact BON and get and fill out the papers. Then sent 1 paper to EC to be filled out and it took them a couple of weeks to fill it out and send it to BON. It seemed like alot longer though because I was already fustrated by all the waiting. But, I finally get to orient this weekend.
Lunah, you're a true asset to your community. Keep up the good work with your volunteering. It really shows your character.:bowingpur:clphnds::urck:
I just finished reading your journal and you did a wonderful job retelling your adventure. I just passed the CPNE this past week June 25-27 and I wish I would have caught your journal before hand. After reading it I want all the more to write my experience to share with everyone here. Congrads on passing that beast and great job on the journal!
Lisa: It's been several years since you tested & I will be taking CPNE @Mansfield in March 2011. Your tips, support & knowledge contribution to this site are highly appreciated. I feel as if you are a true role model for us Excelsior future RN's. I have worked in adult medicine (ambulatory care setting) for many years & with Rob's videos, an upcoming workshop & your great tips (along w/Ivan) know that this beast can be conquered. Also will be 55 years young next month. Thank you sooo much.

I also had meds in all of my PCS. Also got comfort measures for all 3 of my PCS. Be prepared for whatever they throw at you, it's all " luck of the draw".
