One of my favorite residents died today. I got to be with him and sing to him and hold his hand as he took his last breath.

Even though you lost a friend today, you should feel good to know you were there until the end. I am sure your friend (resident) was much more at ease and felt a world of love. I am sorry for your loss....

I am sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like you found being present for him as he transitioned to the next realm to be a profound priveledge. (((hugs)))

as much as it meant to you being there for your friend, i am so sure that your friend was equally, if not more pleased and relieved to have you there.
you showed much warmth and sensitivity.
and i'm sorry for your loss.

It is never easy, but I do believe you BOTH found comfort in being together at the end.

He was blessed to have a loving person like you there with him at the end of his life.
Aaaaaawwwww, thanks. The poor guy was in so much pain. His wife had passed away that same morning. I told him it was okay to let go, his wife was waiting for him. He really was a sweetie.
