Feel like Ive went go through hell and high water to get it!! Nonetheless I was accepted into the nursing program at my community college for this fall! So it started with them not being able to mail the acceptance letters until this Monday.. Well Tuesday everyone got their letter. So it was no question in my mind that I would get mine Wednesday! Well when I didn't receive that letter I freaked! I called the nursing director and found out that they had sent my letter to the wrong address ::oh no::. Fortunately they are really sweet they allowed me to come in and get a copy of my letter and my schedule!! I start orientation nxt Wednesday! I can't explain how far the lord my Jesus has brought me!! I'm humbled and honored to be given this opportunity I know that if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here!! I'm very excited and I just want to say god bless all of the newly accepted nursing students starting Fall 2012!
Congrats!!!!!!!
A bit speechless though about the lateness of letting applicants know whether they got in or not. My community college's ADN program lets applicants known yes or no in April for August start date. Not knowing until literally a week before classes start seems a little unfair to everyone -- those that make it only have 1 week to prepare and get everything ready (such as telling work they must reduce hours or even must resign, etc. after schedules have been created already -- no 2 week notice would be possible at all), and those who don't get in but maybe expected to have little time to implement their plan B. Just seems crazy to make people wait that long, but again, congrats on getting in!!!!!
I waited for my letter, and waited. When all the other students had theirs I was still waiting. Nearly a week later I made a trip to the ASN director and found out my name had been pulled from the canidates list! I couldn't believe it. Thankfully my advisor was able to get everything worked out, and 30 minutes later I had my packet in hand with the acceptance letter. I told my advisor I wanted to hug her, but I refrained. After getting my letter I walked into my Chem class and announced my acceptance to the class. Was an awesome moment.

Oh I completely agree I think it's beyond bizarre that they don't tell people until a week before. I do know that they wait for people to finish up pre req in the summer. So they have to wait for those grades to be posted. I wish they didn't but I'm in a really small town in new Mexico. Which in this town this is the only nursing program so it's makes it hard to get into but, easier for them to make bizarre decisions.. I'm original from Texas and I looked into program there and I know for fact u find out sooner and you have time to prepare. Fortunately for me I do not work.. However I do have friends that just put in there notices and there bosses were pretty upset as they have already made the schedule..
