Must have non-text books

Published

Hey guys!

Just wondering if you guys could suggest any books that aren't required but you found to be very helpful?! I've heard a few people say to get a good NCLEX review book to study for NS tests. Also pharm books? Math books? I think I even heard someone say there are books especially to help you learn tricks for NS test taking?!

Any info would be MUCH appreciated!! :D

I have found that the Straight A's series has helped me to study. I have the one for med-surg and the one for pedi. Also the Incredibly Easy series is pretty good because it breaks things down to help you remember. I also have 2 NCLEX review books as well as the HESI review book. I say you just have to go to the bookstore and look through books and see what you are most comfortable with.

Any book that has nothing to do with NS so you can relax a little. Seriously, I think those kinds of books have helped me more than anything.

I haven't started school yet (2 weeks), and I've already purchased and began studying for the NCLEX. I have Saunders. So far I love it. Not only is it prep for NCLEX, but it's prep for all the test's I will be taking over the next two years. I also have Mosby's Pharmacology Mneumonic cards. These are great in helping you rmember all the drugs. My pharm intructor over the summer used these w/in her teaching methods and they were really helpful. They are cartoons, it makes it funny.
