U.S.A. South Carolina

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

Frustrated one of my references still not in :-(

My stomach just churns thinking about it!! Only 2 days left! I feel that I am well rounded enough and have a decent amount of work experience but I just can't help second guessing myself lol. Time will tell though...

Baffy when I was worried one of my references wouldn't come in the lady at the office said that i can fax in a paper reference form on Monday if it didn't come on. Luckily mine came in yesterday but if you like I can email it to you?

Moca, I am on the same level as you. I am almost sure I will get in but you never know. I also second guess everything. My cGPA is 3.58 but my sci GPA Is 3.0 because I missed an exam due to my job. I've taken a lot of extra Math classes. I am proud of my essay, and resume. I do have 2 classes in progress. Idk just nervous.

As of fri morning:

132 in state applicants

9 have been offered a spot but only 3 of those spots have been accepted.

101 out of state applicants

8 have been offered a spot but only 1 has been accepted. 1 has declined.

You have good grades! My cGPA from Winthrop was 3.2 but I also took a slew of classes as a transient student that didn't factor into my GPA. I honestly don't know what my GPA is when I combine everything together...but I do currently work at MUSC and I've shadowed under a well known doctor there. I've also worked at Roper as an EKG monitor tech and was cross trained as patient care tech. That is where I got introduced to nursing. I felt my essay was stellar and that I answered the question as succinctly as possible. And I know my references were on point....I hope they don't take 4-6 weeks like the lady in admissions said.

Moca,

I'm hoping we will be classmates girl!!

We got this!!

confidence Is key, right? Lol

Yeah, that's what I keep telling myself lol. It ain't over til I get a rejection letter. But in the event that that happens, I don't have a back up plan. Do you have a back up?

Well since the fall app is so close, Iwill probably apply for fall. Besides that, I was going to apply for an RN program and then I'll do MUSC's RN TO BSN program. Trident tech has RN program. I'll probably get my 2nd degree Assoc. in arts in the spring here since I only need 3 classes and attempt to get into RN program in fall if trident is filled up for spring. It's only 30 to apply but you have to take the pre nursing exam so I may do that shortly. I think since there are not a lot of applications it wont take 6 weeks. I kind of expected more applicants. I'm excited about that!

I know I am already ready for October to get here so we can just pull the bandaid off!! There already are so many applications!!

There are a lot for the fall??
