MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

U.S.A. South Carolina

Published

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

Hey all,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I went ahead and created a Facebook group for our class, to hopefully help everyone share information about classes, assignments, resources and to network. It is a closed group, so no one except members of the group can see or read posts, etc. I wanted to keep membership limited to people that have been accepted to our class (so no one else can see what we are up to lol). I did add Joseph, who is in his first semester, to the group, as he is willing to help, and I think he will be a great resource to let us know what to expect in the next step. I know there have only been a handful of acceptances so far, and most have some weeks to wait to find out, but please send a request to join as acceptances are made! I know we are going to have a great cohort, and I am excited to get started and meet each of you. The link to the group is here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/394848507329467/

Thanks and good luck!

I hope I will be accepted. But have no clue where I shall move lol!! I have a family so it's not so simple!

well guys one week downl!! hopefully it won't take forever to get the results!

I hope not either...I've been checking the CON applications by current status web page every single day and noticed that today they have not updated their stats. I thought it was weird because they update every single day. Was a little disappointed but hopefully that means that they are taking some time to review the regular apps....or maybe that is just my wishful thinking :)

I think they are doing the updates tues-fri morning that's whst happened last week too :(. I hope it's done soon I'm so anxious!!

Hi there! I just randomly found this thread. I live in hilton head so it carolina and I have one more semester of pre reqs before I apply to musc. Did anyone get accepted yet?

unfortunately, they have only sent out letters to priority admission thus far.

So I just checked the status site, it looks like all 9 of the in-state priority people who got letters, accepted. There are 3 out of state people who still have yet to make a decision. Maybe they are waiting to get all priority people out of the way first before they start offering to regular admission folks...hopefully by the beginning of October, they will start looking at our applications!

Hey Moca! I totally agre! The out of state folks are prob just trying to get that fee together! It's a steep price for priority out of state! Since pell grants are being given out just about now for fall students it prob won't be long before they accept or decline and then hopefully it won't be long for us! I'm just to excited and ready to know!!

Its so hard to get a job in the hospital without any experience. I talked to ms long and she said I would get 3 pts for sitting not the 5. Has anyone heard of people being accepted without experience

I'm guessing "sitting" mean shadowing? It is hard to get a hospital job, but not impossible. I don't know if anyone has been accepted without any experience...I've always heard the opposite. But as long as you have volunteer, shadowing, research or other opportunities to make up for it, you should be ok. Just know that you might be passed up because someone has more clinical experience. Just my thoughts though. Hope someone with more knowledge chimes in for you.

No sitting is at a hospital where you pretty much keep the patient company. I am currently looking for a doctors office job hoping that will be enough to get my full 5 pts. Im so nervous and I dont even apply until august
