MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

Those on the Alternative list should keep calm because I think myself and my brother-in-law who got accepted too might let go the spots.

Awww, well, I know the decision you make will be the one best for you. But I know if you were to go to a school in Arizona, your tuition would be a heck of a lot cheaper!!

Finally at my computer! I'm accepted! Yasss! I haven't received my letter yet though. It makes no sense because I'm only 1.5 hours away from downtown Chas. Hopefully it comes tomorrow.

I can't believe this matriculation fee! The first(and probably the smallest) of many expenses I'll have in the next couple of months so I'll quit my complaining right here. :)

Now to find a place to stay that's decent but cheap! :)

Congrats!!

Awww thanks! :) Whatever your decision, keep us posted!

I'm honored that I'm an alternate, but it is Harder, lol you can find out last minute!! Everything is so iffy so I have just relaxed and enjoyed my last week of pregnancy!

Congrats though Baffy! Out of state acceptance is harder to get!!

I wish I would have applied other places though.

Hey Pinkglitter - email me about a possible room [email protected]. It won't let me pm on here yet.

Whoever else may be interested feel free to email as well. We can meet up and see if it would be a good room-mate match.

It would be cool to live with someone in the same program to study and test each other. As well as just being by someone who understands the exact experience we are about to go through.

I'm wondering how intense the clinical days are going to be. The Monday and Tuesday schedule looks fine, but Wed-Fri assignments will be announced. If they are really long days, I will need a roommate. I probably should just move anyway but just seems like so much more money to borrow :scrying:. Is any one else stressing about the cost?

I am DEFINATELY stressing about cost! I am married and have a 2 -soon to be 3- year old. I have a decent paying full time job here at MUSC that I am going to have to give up. Bummed, but I try not to think about it. I am hoping to get at least ONE of MUSC's scholarships to help me out. But trust me, you are not alone!

Yeah, I wouldn't dare try to work and go to school. I too have a pretty good job, but I am really burned out in my current career so not really to upset about leaving!

The cost is definitely my biggest concern. Especially since it will be my second bachelors - you generally can not receive federal aid for it. I also used my life scholarship all four years for undergrad - so I am hoping for some type of MUSC scholarship assistance as well!

Took the words right out of my mouth!! I feel the exact same way lol. They only thing I will miss is the pay (:

I am in the same boat as you! This will be my 2nd bachelors as well and I used the Life Scholarship too, so there's virtually no help lol. I really have my eye set on getting the The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) New Careers in Nursing (NCIN) that MUSC offers. It would be a dream to get that $10,000!
