MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

So which number would you advise be the best to call?

They met today to make the decisions. I had SIM lab this morning with one of the faculty members who said the admission meeting was at noon today. If it makes you guys feel any better, they've increased the enrollment size...we had 65 in our cohort but I think you'll have either 80 or 90, so your odds of acceptance have increased:-)

Thank you for the information! We really appreciate that!

I wish I stayed home today because I am feeling sick over this. And I can't concentrate!!!

So which number would you advise be the best to call?

Mardi Long

If the admissions committee meets at noon today and it takes about 5 hours to decide then I'm assuming Monday would be the best time to call?

The "five hours" thing is just my way of saying they do it pretty quickly. Could be longer, could be shorter. I don't have any specific inside info on exactly how long it takes, I just know it's faster than you'd think (like it takes ~1 day to do final decisions)!

Hey y'all, just checking in. My week is almost done just studying and a test to do this weekend. Once you receive you letter don't let the size or color throw you off. I got a regular white envelope with my acceptance letter, and nothing else with it. They had forgotten to mail the rest of the packet to us. If you live in the Charleston area it should take about a day or 2 for you to receive it. If you have more courage then I did, you can call. Good luck to y'all

There are a handful of people in our cohort who just have the required prerequisites...a prior degree is not a requirement nor does it weigh heavily into the decision:-)

Moca,

Don't freak out...you'll be fine:-) If on the slim chance you don't get accepted, you just pick yourself up and reapply. I cried buckets when i got the first rejection letter. Then I called Caroline Page and asked for specifics on improving my application and she told me step by step what to do to get accepted to the next cohort, which worked. 15 months later and I'm 2 classes from graduation:-)

so i just called mardi long's number. not sure if it was mardi who answered the phone, (i never spoke to her before so i dont know what she sounds like lol). i got confirmation that decisions have already been made today but the lady said she couldn't tell me anything. she said i will have to wait until letters go out.

I called and no answer so then I emailed and got this response"Yes, the Admissions Committee met today – we are processing the decisions this afternoon and you will receive a letter soon. Best wishes, ". So still kind of vague as to when we will know something. Hopefully Monday!
