MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

I'm sure the meeting is over and decisions have been made by now! If anyone calls please let the rest of us know. Good luck everyone!

How do you know the meeting is over? I am just scared out of my mind to call....but I will later

I think if it takes them about five hours they prob be done closer to 2. But who knows.

so I was going to email Ms. Hudson, but she is out of the office until Oct 21. She said for immediate assistance, call 843-792-2536. Just FYI for anyone who is going to call today. I will call, but a little later on.

Yes! That is Mardi Long's number above^^. When I called last year I left a voicemail and she returned my call in 8 minutes. I think it was around 3 or 4 when I called. I am the alleged sister who will call at 2 for my poor nerve ridden sister :). If they still don't have decisions then One of you lovely ladies should call later in the day and reinquire :)

When u called last year was it the same day they made decisions?nd did they give you an answer?

Hi MUSC hopefuls:-) I'm currently in my last 6 weeks at MUSC and I remember the stress of the application process like it was yesterday!! Volunteer experience is key if you haven't worked in the medical field before. I didn't have either and got denied my first time, even with full points on the essay and a 4.0 GPA in the sciences and a 4.0 overall GPA. Just something to keep in mind. Best of luck to you all:-)

Shakes, did you call and find out about your acceptance the second time around or did you wait for the letter?

They met today to make the decisions. I had SIM lab this morning with one of the faculty members who said the admission meeting was at noon today. If it makes you guys feel any better, they've increased the enrollment size...we had 65 in our cohort but I think you'll have either 80 or 90, so your odds of acceptance have increased:-)

I honestly can't say for certain, but I feel like it probably was. I was all over this message board and I feel like the turnaround was pretty quick from when they met and when I found out. I am hoping you all find out today; I am nervous for my kin! However I don't know if their decisions being made today will translate into you all finding out...maybe they have to put things in the computer first? I have no idea how that all works. I don't think Mardi Long is involved in the acceptance process(could be wrong), but she will be one of your advisors if you're accepted, and she's the one that coordinates new students.

I called...pretty much every day. Don't worry about annoying or bothering them; they fully expect a million phone calls:-) if you want to wait for the mail, look for the big manila envelope about the size of a piece of paper...that's the acceptance paperwork. The plain white envelope is the "try again" envelope:-(
