Hi everyone!!!
I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!
What is the link that you are referring to that keeps updates on students accepting/declining their spot?
here is the link: https://mainweb-v.musc.edu/applicationstats/nrstatuss.htm
You can also find it by going to MUSC's main page and type in 'nursing application'. There will be multiple links, but the one I alwasy go to is the one that says Spring Nursing Applications by Current Status. There are other stats you can look up as well such as race, etc.
Hope that helps!
***Edited to add that the site may be down right now. It has been that way since yesterday. But I am able to check it at work, and the stats still haven't budged. It was last updated today, Oct 2, @ 3:42am.
Great - thank you! One more question, I read on MUSCs page that they don't really have a forgiveness policy, as in if you retake a class, they won't count the new grade. But I thought I read on here somewhere that they do? Could just be making that up. Thanks guys!
I am not well versed on the forgiveness policy...I have heard differing opinions about it. I hope someone who knows can answer that for you!
Hey Spring hopefuls! I am a third semester student right now in the program. Just to address someone's question about how to find out about admissions: you can wait for your packet in the mail, or you can take a deep breath and pick up the phone and call Mardi Long around October 16. They make decisions pretty quickly when they finally sit down to meet about it, and they will tell you over the phone. I waited until someone posted on this blog that decisions had been made and then called to avoid being annoying. Good luck!
Good luck everyone, I anticipate you should be hearing something in the next couple weeks. Just a few quick points to remember: #1 - don't forget about your "matriculation fee" upon admission; #2 - for those who still need to work during school; you "WILL NOT" be able to work full-time. You can try, but you're severely risking academic probation. Part-time is VERY doable; however, this isn't even recommended. You're 1st semester you'll be busy taking 17 credit hours.
Once EVERYONE receives their acceptance letters, Ms. Mardi Long will hold a "mini" orientation for your class. I'd anticipate this to be sometime in November? This mini-orientation is "not" mandatory; however, it will give you a chance to meet your cohort.
Please let me know if you have any questions ([email protected]); I look forward to meeting everyone in a few months.
V/r,
Joseph

Thanks for the update! I'm hoping those 2 pending out-of-staters end up declining!
