Yeah you just need to take a BLS class before school starts. They gave us a list of classes to choose from.

So I spoke with Cumberland today. I was ready for MTSU but apparently not them. I have to take lifespan psych because they don't think the general psych class I took at MTSU will fulfill their requirement. I also took physical science and yep you guessed it they require chemistry and IDK if that will be good enough. I will also have to take spanish I and II because MTSU nursing didn't require it anymore (high school deficiency) and I dropped it last semester. ALSO sociology. I have another semester FULL of classes just to apply. That well exceeds their 10 hour minimum of classes to have left when applying. Very discouraged. Any advice would be appreciated.

I thought you already had to have had sociology for the mtsu nursing program? Anyway, if you can, take those classes over the summer. You could knock out all of 'em if you really wanted. I know some schools will let you take spanish 1 and 2 back to back (may-june)...sociology,chemistry1030, and lifetime is very doable. Good Luck!

I don't think sociology is an MTSU requirement... But I didn't think general psychology was enough at MTSU either. I had already had it and had to take developmental psychology to get in.

No Sociology was not required at MTSU. I am trying to find out if my physical science will cover the chemistry. Thanks all for the help! I called Motlow today….I never wanted to go there but I want to keep my options open.. Well you have to apply by January 31st and if you MISS that registration then you have to wait until the next year! I wouldn't start until FALL OF 2014! I didn't even know what to say to the woman LOL!

I applied to MTSU and I although I did not get in, I am at the top of the alternate list. I am keeping my fingers crossed, and is there any thing I could do in the mean time in case I do get in at the last min? Like I am wondering what I could do to prepare for the upcoming paperwork. Also, does anyone know what my chances are of getting in from the alternate list. I asked the secretary and although she was very helpful she could not really say, obviously she can't see the future but I am so hopeful! I have so many questions that I forgot to ask everything while I was with her and my advisor.

All I can really say is BE ready - I've heard stories of them calling alternates a week before classes start.

You could go ahead and get your CPR/BLS card, take your physical, and get your T-dap shot. What did you make on the hesi and what is your gpa?

I'm going to apply for either spring 2014 or fall 2014. But I'm afraid ny 3.5 GPA isn't enough

Well as long as you have at least an 88 on the hesi and do well in the interview you should be fine:)

Did she happen to mention what alternate you were? She told me this last go around a good number of alternates got called up. Well hopefully you get the call you are looking for! I wish there was a way to find out all the people that got in. I'm curious really!
