MTSAC's lottery number (2010)

Personally, I don't think they really hand pick based on gpa. My reason for this is just based on this forum though since there were a few people that posted their numbers and stated they had 4.0 gpa but had higher lottery numbers than I did and I don't have a solid 4.0 gpa. If it was based on gpa I would think they would have already been in and not had a greater number.

jewelspassion: no orientation packet, but maybe this week! :coollook: I've been checking my mail everyday and am so anxious!

Hello,

I completely agree with you. I do not have a 4.0 GPA and am not that far away from getting in comparing to a year ago. So we shall see. Basically, when its your turn to get in you will get in. It is really hard to figure out the how they do things and I am sure they change the process from time to time. Just be patient everyone. We will make it in ! :)

pdperez77-hey just wondering did you call to confirm your confirmation/acceptance form got there. For some crazy reason i was thinking today OMGosh!!! i should of called to make sure-i think i am worrying for nothing.

Well they did say at the end of month orientation packets will go out huh? let's give the mail some time huh? lol. Anxious also, i'm going to do my CPR on June 9th so i can have it when i go into orientation-one less thing i have to do. Math eeeesh that's another thing-i'm now demolishing a math for health care careers book.

I actually walked my letter into the office since I was already going to be on campus. They gave me a copy stating it was received and said the end of the may i should receive my packet, however i have learned they always seem to be running behind...i would call them just to double check, it doesn't hurt ;-) let me know when you get your packet and i'll do the same...

Quick question-I am currently number #133 on the waitlist. So obviously I am going to receive another letter in August. Now if my letter states that I am number #45 for example, Does that mean that I will for sure start in Spring 2011 or do I have to wait for another drawing in May. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing. I guess I want to know if applicants receive a number less than 60 in August will begin Spring 2011? I hope that makes a little more sense. Just trying to plan some stuff around the timeframe. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

I completely understand your concern and confusion when it comes to these lottery numbers. I say if you are number 45 when the fall letters are generated, then you start the following spring. The letter I received in May said I was number 33 and I will be starting this coming fall. I hope this clears up some things...

i talked to them today, they received my letter, thank God! She also said the orientation packets are definitely going out tomorrow(Thurs). So watch your mail-they do run behind though

Hi. I applied in Oct 2009. When I got my first letter I was 1000 something. Now I am 304 after receiving the most recently letter from Mtsac. My Friend is number 273 Or something. When I called and asked about the wait time they estimated 2-2.5 years. Does this sound about right? How is it that some people got in after only waiting one semester or 2 semesters ??? Also does any one know anything about the PCC nursing program? Thank you.

Wait, VNGO....How does that work? I applied in the fall of 2009 and my number was 910. Now my number is 358. If you were behind me in the fall, how did you get in front of me now? Are you sure your numbers are correct?

maybe I got confused with the lottery # and the the actual position #. How long is the wait for 300 ish is it really 2-3 years?

Hello, if you are 300 i would say about two more semesters-it could be the second semester-the numbers significantly drop if you've noticed-remember she said, she has to put out at least 120 letters to get her sixty each semester.

some ppl say relax until you get in, but as for myself i have been doing math calculations, pharmacology, etc. so i don't have to wack my brain along with all the other stuff. I look at it like this, a lot of the pharmacology will be review for me, i know i will have a hard enough time as it is. I'm ready or at least i think i am :idea:
