Hello future nursing students! Is anyone applying to the Nursing Program this year 2017? What scores did you all place on the Hesi exam? I personally haven't taken the Hesi exam, but I do have my exam date next month (February 2017).;)

Received mines today, have an appointment set for April 3rd at 3. Applied with 77 points.

They also call in backup students. You should know by the end of the appointment if you are in or on the waitlist. Even waitlist students have to attend the mandatory orientation.

I have my appt for April 12th! Luckily Rio hondo sends out their acceptance letters the 10th so I'll know then what I'm going to do from that point!

Hello all,

I had my appointment today at 3pm. I found out that I made top 60! Woo!! Also, I found out cut off was 77 points. I got in at 77 points but there were so many at 77 points that not all the 77 points are top 60. I was told that acceptance emails will be sent out the first week in May, and the orientation will probably be the week of June 19th. I also had my appointment with a counselor new to the nursing appointments, I was actually her first nursing student. So, I got as much info as I could get. I would appreciate any extra info anyone finds out. Does anybody know how many alternates they call in? Or they name?

Congratulations! Wish you all the best in the fall2017. I had a feeling this semester was a tough one. Well actually every semester seems to get even harder to get in. I guess I might need to re-apply again in the fall :unsure: but this time to other schools as well. Thank you for providing extra information for us who haven't received anything yet :)

Awesome. Congrats. Were you able to find out what the first semester schedule is like?

The counselor did not give info about those things, really its just to make sure all your paperwork is correct. If the schedule is anything like the past few semesters classes will be held monday/thur starting at 7am. I am not sure how clinical hours will be.

That's disappointing. I'm sorry :( Is there anything you can do to increase your points in time for the next application period?? As far as other schools are concerned, I know that Chaffey uses a lottery system. I went to Chaffey for my pre-reqs and I loved it there.

No worries, :) Thank you for your concern! I am a great student and I work very hard, so I am confident my turn will come with faith. I do have other options that I've considered. E.g I have a 3.41 in my overall GPA and according to the Nursing counselor last semester I need 1-2 classes with A to increase my GPA to a 3.5 which would give me those extra 5 points. I am taking my transfer classes now and aiming for those A and the rest I will take in the summer. I know I will be cutting it short, but I am going to try that out. However, I still have "hope" for the Fall 2017 semester. Oh and I can also retake anatomy in another school and get an A and can get 5 points there based on my science GPA. I would just need to find out when there classes start and perhaps take it in the summer so that I can be ready for July. I'll check chaffeys starting dates. Perhaps I can retake Anatomy there. Any other suggestions you might have for me? I really appreciate your time!:up:
