Good evening everyone.
My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Spring 2018 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see everyone's status, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. I have not taken my HESI yet; I am taking it August 17th. I am also working on finishing up a summer class to know where my gpa stands for points on the multi criteria. I am between 76 and 83 points depending on my HESI score, gpa, and work experience. Not sure what the cutt off will be for the Spring 2018 semester, but I'm hoping I will have enough points. Hope everyone is having an awesome night. Hope to hear from future students.
Can I ask what other school you applied? Does it require HESI or TEAS? Is there any other school use HESI too? Thank you.
Yea I applied to Chaffey. They do a Teas test, but only after you get in. It doesn't count towards your application process. They randomly select.
I also applied to GCC and I got invited to take the teas on Nov 1st. I applied to RCC and I have to take a Teas for them too. Lastly, I applied to APU 2+2 program. That is no teas or hesi. Just gpa and reference letters. Sbvc is the only other school I know that gives the hesi and I didn't make their cut off to submit my application stuff.

Thank you very much! So many. I have never thought about.
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows whether loans are offered for the nursing program if
you already have a bachelor's degree. I know that tuition with the necessary books should be about a grand per semester. My hope is that they do offer loans so that I can pay the fees after I'm employed as a nurse. Please let me know if anybody has information on the topic and I'll also be calling the financial aid department this week to find out more. Thank you! :)
Hey! I'm not exactly sure what Mt. Sac is like, but I go to GCU and I love it! I just got into the spring 2018 nursing program, but it's very competitive! I head the average GPA was 3.72 for my application date, which means basically all As and a B or so and some A- maybe. We take the HESI and I hear mid 90s is a good score. It's basically half of the application, so if your GPA isn't great, aim for a great HESI score. GCU isn't taking any transfers anymore, so you'd have to come in as a freshman. There isn't much room to mess up, but hey, thats what it's like at all universities! I personally love it here and there is a lot of help available everywhere. AND there are many application periods available (fall, spring, and summer, all with the option to do fast track (meaning you stay over summer to finish faster)) I transferred from SJSU and I personally didn't do well in that environment. Also, literally half of GCU's population is people from socal, so you'll feel right at home here! Let me know if you have any more questions.

I also have a bacleor's degree but I don't believe we are able to get financial aid to get an associates. I think you can still apply for the BOG waiver but for books and supplies I would look into private loans.
I got through to the counseling dept. and have scheduled my appt. for Oct. 10No, It basically says that I have been selected as candidate and to schedule an appt. to verify documents... Depending on how that goes they will then notify me of my applications status during the first two weeks of Nov. So I think it becomes official in Nov.

I believe I figured out the other semesters if anyone wants to see what those will be I can email it to you. It's not for sure of course but I went off the previous semester schedule.
Hi I think I didn't reply the right way yesterday, but I was wondering if you knew if we start clinical right away? If we do, I assume our schedule would be more than Monday's and Thursdays right?

No problem. I saw the message but wasn't sure if it was for me. I am not sure if we start clinical right away. My guess is no because they probably need to teach us the skills to do clinical. I am only guessing but I am sure they will tell us more at orientation.
