Mt. Sac nursing program spring 2018

Published

Good evening everyone.

My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Spring 2018 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see everyone's status, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. I have not taken my HESI yet; I am taking it August 17th. I am also working on finishing up a summer class to know where my gpa stands for points on the multi criteria. I am between 76 and 83 points depending on my HESI score, gpa, and work experience. Not sure what the cutt off will be for the Spring 2018 semester, but I'm hoping I will have enough points. Hope everyone is having an awesome night. Hope to hear from future students.

I feel terrible now. Never expected this to happen. Tomorrow my friend and I will go and check with nursing department. I hope there is some mistake and we can get in finally. We tried so hard for this. This is really not what we planned. Hope anyone with latest information can come and share.

Good luck to all of you!

I'm sorry this is happening. It seems really weird that you would have that high of points and not get an email. I hope when you go to the nursing department they can resolve the issue. Keep us updated and good luck!

I'm hoping that it's all just a silly mistake and everything works out!

I submitted everything in PDF and I also double check and opened all documents just in case there was a problem with opening them. If you were able to open them, there shouldn't be a problem. I'm sorry about what's happening. You and your friend definitely worked hard to earned those points. Please keep us updated on what's happening! What school did you complete your credits at?

I agree with you all.. something is not right. I would go right now to the nursing department and ask ASAP. Goodluck!

Have any of you applied to Rio Hondo ? I'm not sure what i'll do if I get into both... anyone know the pros and cons of both schools. All I know is both have high NCLEX pass rates.

Here is how the two schools stack up among all of our Nations other nursing programs including public and private universities, state universities, and 2 year public and private colleges...

Mt San Antonio College's nursing program ranks #1,084 (out of 2766; top 40%) in the United States and #76 in*California.

Rio Hondo College nursing program ranks #2,120 (out of 2766; top 80%) in USA and #156 in California.

Rio Hondo doesn't, but Mt. SAC does have a "Jump Start" program in connection with Cal State Fullerton which allows you to complete 10 of the 41 required units for their RN to BSN program; the 10 units can be completed while at Mt SAC during the summer sessions. This program allows full time ADN graduates the opportunity to complete their BSN in 12 months.

Mt. SAC also has a "Bridge" program with Mt. Saint Marys" which enables ADN graduates to complete their BSN in 12 months after receiving their ADN.

Both Cal State Fullerton and Mt. Saint Marys are ranked in the top 100 in the nation and the top 5 in the state. CSF is ranked slightly better in both catagories.

At the end of it all, both schools have good NCLEX pass rates, considering the number of graduates produced, which essentially makes them equally good at achieving their primary goal which is to produce competent and employable Registered Nurses. Hope this helps...

Anyone is a student at Mt Sac? How did gou guys apply? I think there shouldn't be any problem with the application or my documents because they said jep was ok. I submitted pdf and I had tried all of them before I submitted. I really don't understand what the problem would it be. And my friend has the same problem! It is really weird.

Hope it's going well for you and your friend! To answer your question, I'm a Mt. SAC student and I applied exactly as you did, online and with pdf files which I emailed to a friend to make sure that they would open after being sent and I also opened them once I had uploaded them into the application. Once my application was sent I emailed the dept. and asked them to review my application for any errors because I was worried about their request for "unofficial" transcripts and I didn't want to be disqualified because I misinterpreted what they meant... I got the feeling that my app. was sorta reviewed but I might be wrong on this since I was really stressed during our interaction.

Thank you so much that really helps ! Looks like mt sac is my First choice í ½í¸Š (if I have a spot)

Found out that the point cut-off was 72 pts.

Did you call the nursing office?

Wow I'm .5 off!! I must be on the alternate list :(
