MSU Accelerated Nursing

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

I applied to the upcoming may 2018 cohort for the accelerated nursing program at Michigan state. I'm waiting to hear back from admissions and am getting anxious. I have a 3.5 overall Gpa and 3.3 prereq gpa. Wondering if anyone else has gotten accepted yet to this cohort or what past admitted applicants credentials are.

Hi Sparty77....Waitlisted Again? Painful....but at least you heard something back. I still haven't had any response. I saw a Facebook post of a photo of acceptance letter one applicant received dated Feb 1, 2019. I am wondering why some applicants have heard and others haven't.

Hope You Clear the Waitlist this time! Good Luck!

Yeah it is, insane as I have gotten into every other nursing school I’ve applied for so far.. still waiting to hear from 2 others though. Makes me wonder what MSU isn’t liking about my application, my assumption is my GPA but who knows. Praying I can get through the list this time.

As for the letter mine was dated January 29th but I didn’t get it until last week (I only live 45 mins from east Lansing too) so not sure what the delay was. I’d imagine you’d have to get your letter very soon though, probably this week. Best of luck

Forgot to post an update, but I got through the waiting list this time! Classes start in May and I cannot wait to get started!

Congrats Sparty 77!!! See you there!

Hi there - I'm just starting to take all the pre-req's needed to make a career switch (currently have a bachelors in finance and MBA and work in hospital administration) so that I can start to apply to some of Michigan's ABSN programs. Long story short, by the time I'm done with all the pre-reqs it'll be around the same time as we had planned on starting a family... is it feasible to complete ABSN programs with a newborn or young toddler? I'm having a hard time figuring out what a typical schedule will look like for child care (my husband is a surgeon so his schedule will likely be even worse than mine).

Hi! I'm currently in MSU ABSN program. I don't have a child or a family so its difficult to say from my end, however, I know there are people in the program who are married or have kids. The individuals I've talked to have either their parents taking care of the kids or husband who stays at home. If you want to message me, I can tell you a more detailed, day-to-day schedule of the program so far.

Hi everyone! I applied to the 2020 cohort and was wondering if anyone has heard anything from the Nursing Board about when we will find out / if they will be sent as letter as it has been in the past? The application used to be a hard copy and since this year it was online I was curious if the decisions would still be sent as a letter or as an email!

Would love to know the answer to this! If you hear anything from them, please post an update! I am anxiously awaiting a response from them and it'd definitely be helpful to know when other's are finding out if they are accepted or not.

I emailed an advisor and she said that they are on schedule to send them out in February, so I guess that means they could be sent any day! It seems like it took a week or two in the past for letters to come in the mail. They are doing letters not emails this year and she said "the sooner the better" not sure what that means!

@ampnursing I got my email today and my letter is dated Feb 3rd but still hasn't arrived to my house. I was wait-listed, but hoping that isn't all bad new but we will see! Good luck to you!!
