Moving out of state immediately after graduating NP program.

Hi everyone!

I will soon be starting my direct entry MSN program in a couple weeks. The program is laid out in a way to allow me to have my RN license in one year, then the next two years are spent for the MSN-FNP portion while also working as a RN to gain experience. I moved from California to Massachusetts for this program and I am already planning to move back after I finish the program (about 3 years). I've been looking up the procedure to transfer my license and paperwork from MA to CA already and it's stressing me out!

Is there any way for me to be able to transfer my FNP license to CA immediately after graduation, or will I have to spend months in MA to have all paperwork be processed?

Is there extra certification that I need to have a FNP license in CA (in comparison to the requirements in MA)?

One thing I do understand is that I will need to apply for a CA RN license. I assume doing this immediately after I get my RN license would be the best choice?

On the BON out of state application, I noticed they require the transcript from my program with a degree listed. I have a BS in Microbiology, but my current nursing program does not provide a BSN after one year, but only provides the MSN at the end of the program. Will this be an issue when I try to transfer my license after gaining licensure?

I really hope I can move back to CA immediately after graduation, and I really do not want to end up working and being stuck in MA for any additional time.

If anyone could help me out by completely outlining how to transfer a NP license before graduation would be amazing.

Thank you!
