Moving to Phoenix...need school advice?

U.S.A. Arizona

I am wanting to do a program where I can get my LPN while in school and quickly get my RN. Can you tell me the best schools (that are highly regarded) that offer this type of program? Is there a GPA requirement? I am hoping to find one that doesn't require prerequisites, but I know many do. I am looking to get accepted so I can attend around the end of next year. :)

You want a quick and easy solution for nursing school?

Sorry, there isn't one. You either wait and jump through hoops or you pay the big bucks.

Bliss - Unfortunately there are no programs here that are quick or that don't require pre-requisites.

Do you have your Bachelors degree in something else?

Have you taken your A&P part 1 & 2 yet? Along with Microbiology?

If you have...that helps you with the pre-reqs.

If not, you will have to take those and any additional courses that you may not have.

I have all my pre-req's complete and I am currently on a wait list of 2+ years...

unfortunately that's just how it is here (depending on the school).

So let me know what pre-reqs you have and I can try and help any way I can.

What part of the Valley are you moving too?

Are you wanting to go to a Community College (tuition is about $7,000) or a University (tuition almost triple that)???

Let me know...sorry it's pretty difficult here. HIGH demand degree :-)

I know that Chamberlain has a 3 year BSN program that does not require that you have prerequisites, but I do not know if you'll be able to get your LPN while enrolled. You can try calling them and speaking to an Admissions Advisor.

GPA minimum is 2.75 + you need to score a minimum of 75% (math & English) on the HESI A2 as the minimum admissions requirements.

Keep in mind, this is a private school, so it will cost $$$ to attend. Make sure you can make the commitment if you are considering this school.

You can go to the AZBN website to view admissions requirements for different nursing schools: http://www.azbn.gov/Documents/education/Nursing%20Programs/Admission%20Requirements%20for%20Nursing%20Programs.10.07.10.pdf

Check out Gateway's fast track LPN, then bridge to their RN. The LPN only requires an AZ CNA to apply. Can't beat the price either.

Estrella Mountain and the Maricopa Skills Center also have LPN programs. All three of these schools are part of the Maricopa Community College system. I don't know anything about Estrella, but the skills center is a little more expensive, takes longer to complete, and gets some questionable reviews.

I think this is as quick and inexpensive as it gets.

this was the quickest way to bypass the long RN wait, however everyone caught on to it... i just started block 3, which is the block that LPNs join at, and several of the LPNs waited for 2-3 semesters to get a spot.
