Most of the good public schools are outside the Fort Worth city limits. For a variety of reasons, the suburban school districts are more highly rated than the Fort Worth Independent School District.

Wow.. what a long move, and a bold one... I admire your goals, and will tell you that Texas is a great place to live, and if I could, I would move back there in a hurry. Fort Worth, and Arlington TX both have some great schools, but like the commuter stated, the best, are on the outskirts of the cities proper

HEB ISD, Keller ISD, Northwest ISD, Burleson/Crowley have a lot of great new housing developments. I do not recommend Fort Worth ISD. Aledo has great athletics but is a further commute.

Fort Worth ISD is ghetto, Stay away form inner city schools.
I not a big fan of Fort Worth area, I would move to an community outside the city.
