This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!
Betsy
I had my reactivation meeting yesterday. I'm now applying for Fall 2010 cohort. Sounds like a better plan for me now in the long run. A little more time to get my finances in order. Now that I have all my prereqs done, the advisor told me that I'm a strong candidate! Turns out that the reactivated applicants are viewed separately than the regular applicants. Could be a good thing in this case.
Sugarlips,
I'm glad you were able to have the meeting already. I was a reactivation applicant myself so I was able to get in the second time I applied. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Betsy also reapplied and she got in the second time also!
In the end, I'm also grateful I'm starting this cohort because a lot of family issues sprung up within the year and could have cost me my grades if I got accepted the first time around. But like I always say, everything happens for a reason :)
Keep your head up! You'll be great!!
Sugar Lips, Good for your for already reactivating your application. I think you will end up being one of the first interviews next time around.
I applied for the Fall 2009 cohort but didn't get in b/c I had classes still in progress. But I kind of didn't expect to get in that time and hoped it would help my application the second time around, which it could have b/c I ended up getting in this time. And it worked out perfect b/c it gave me some time to relax the brain before beginning such a rigorous program )
I am positive we will be meeting you in the fall!! Keep us posted!!
I don't know if it's necessary per se, but I would guess that it's probably helpful. From what I understand from those who have had reactivation meetings, you can find out what aspects of your application need to be strengthened. I would think too that it shows the school that you are enthusiastic and dedicated towards reactivating your application.
Hi all,
My status still says Complete-in review process.
I've called numerous times, but I cannot get a hold of the person who can tell me my status. I've emailed her, but I haven't gotten a response.
This is frustrating. I think I'm going to reactivate my application just in case I'm denied.
Hi kkinla,
I've called and spoke to them, but they directed me to a person with the name J*****. I was told she would be the main person who can let me know about my status. I can't get a hold of her. She's either at a meeting or out of the office or out for the day. I have left many messages and I also emailed her last week, and she still hasn't replied. I checked my status again today and it still hasn't changed. I'm going to call again tomorrow. I hope I can get a hold of this person tomorrow.
