Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2010

U.S.A. California

Published

This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.

This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls :o)

Good luck to all you!!

Namaste.........

Hi Betsy,

I just had my MSM accBSN interview on Tuesday of this week. It was about 30 minutes and was pretty basic.

Well I gave up on the Zen route and decided to call and make an appointment to meet with a counselor to talk about the reactivation process. They took my name, etc. and didn't tell me not to worry about reactivating so I'm guessing this is the right thing for me to do. I have an appt. with the coordinator on 2/9/10.

this is the week they're supposed to mail out the letters...im gonna wait until next week to see if i get a letter. im so nervous o_O

Rocky, I thought the same thing!! My husband said to me last night "this week is the moment of truth!" I am nervous too.

I'm really tempted to call tomorrow and ask if they're still on track to have decision letters made by the end of the month. The last few days have been killing me! I was accepted into another program that starts on Feb. 9th, and really don't want to start buying textbooks in a few days if I don't have to!

Kkinla,

Where is the other program? What if you don't find out this week? I turned down NYU, which started this month in hopes of getting into Mount St. Marys. If I don't get in, I am going to be so upset. If you call, keep us posted. Good luck!!

Betsy

kkinla,

if you do end up calling, pls let us all know!!

i think im gonna cry if i don't get accepted. i worked so hard to get this far only to be rejected! im sure you all feel the same...still hoping for the best for everyone!!!

Hey Rocky 16

I called today, to enquirer about the letters. She said that teh admissions office will send them by the end of the week. She also added that if I didnot recieve any letter by friday, then I can call her back.

So I think we will all get letters by friday.

I am sooo done waiting.......

Guess I don't need to call then! Friday can't come soon enough!

betsyct--- I was accepted at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. It's a community college, 2 year RN program. I accepted the spot but will drop the program if I get into MSMC. Unfortunately, I've already had to register for classes, order scrubs, update my CPR stuff, etc., in case I end up going there. So if for some reason I don't hear by the end of the week, I'll probably order the textbooks I need for the first week or so, hopefully from a website where I can return them if I don't need them. Needless to say, I just want to hear from Mount St. Mary's sooner rather than later, even if it's a no. Then at least I could have more than a few days to mentally prepare myself for school!

DesiGirl,

THANKS SO MUCH for updating all of us! it's only tuesday...3 more days!

kkinla,

congrats on getting accepted to COC! I would have done the same as you also and just enrolled for classes as a back up plan just incase MSMC doesnt go through :) GREAT JOB!!!

everyone else,

just hold on...just a couple more days...i'm gonna give them till next week,...just in case.

Craziness that kkinla went through all that already without knowing about MSMC. I hate that everyone has all these deadlines knowing that different schools have different notification timetables. I believe they like to watch us squirm just to see if we can take it. Perhaps it's part of the whole application process and their entertainment. :p
