Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2009

Published

This is a new thread for anyone applying to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles. Please feel free to share, and discuss your application process with us.

There is also lots of information available through previous MSMC threads!

Good luck to everyone!

:D

They didn't tell me where I was on the waiting list, even though I'd called to ask! Weird...

I'm not sure about financial aid. I was just accepted today over the phone, and my status hasn't even changed yet online. Maybe they're waiting for me to send in the deposit and forms. They told me that my questions would probably be answered by the packet I would get in the mail shortly, so I was going to wait and see....

Looking into apartments in the area, it looks like that would probably be cheaper. Plus I wouldn't have to get rid of all my furniture! Does anyone know about what areas are good/bad? I was thinking as close to USC/MSMC as possible would be good...

Congratulations to both of you who just got accepted. I spent the last 2 days looking at housing and found it to be a bit more expensive than I'd hoped. I am kind of picky though. The area right around campus has lots of "single" places listed on Craigslist although I didn't look at these. There are also inexpensive places in Koreatown. The least expensive, close, nice place I found was Bunker Hill Towers. Didn't check the studios but the 1BR are around 1300. Hope that helps! See you in the fall.

Hey everyone,

Have any of you tried to register for classes or is it too early...maybe after we pay for tuition? I've checked out the online registration via web advisor but the classes (the ones listed in the packet) seem to overlap/conflict with each other. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place (webmaster -> register for sections -> search and register for sections, etc)? Have any of you made sense of it? Thanks and congrats to everyone!

hello! Congrats to all of you who got accepted as well. I can't wait to meet u all in the fall but just out of curiosity, does anyone plan to dorm on the doheny campus for fall? When I got the info packet, the brochure said it was 5,000 a semester which would definitely make my wallet thinner than it already is. Is there any other pretty good suggestions on places to live by?

Hi y'all,

I was wondering if MSMC took AP Credit for the Written language requirement. Im a senior and I never took the english class because the AP scores gave me credit for the graduation req.

Thanks!

Not sure if anyone is going to check this thread again, but for those that got accepted in June 2009, when was your deadline to turn in your initial application? I just turned mine in for 2010, but not sure when I would be starting...granted I even get in.

Thanks!

For my cohort that started this past August, we applied in March and were accepted between May and June. I'm assuming you turned in your application to be accepted for the cohort that starts in May 2010. Good luck.
