This is a new thread for anyone applying to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles. Please feel free to share, and discuss your application process with us.
There is also lots of information available through previous MSMC threads!
Good luck to everyone!
Hi Everyone,I just found this thread you guys have been using and i'm so greatful. I was accepted into the program last week and am trying to figure housing. I am from the IE in CA and want to live close to campus and where our clinics will be. For those of you going have you already arranged your living accomadations? I am so excited about this program and can't wait to start.
Congratulations Chanbals! I'm from Northern Cal and have just started looking a little bit. Haven't decided if I'll want a share as my husband will visit frequently and I think I'm older than most of the students. If I can figure out how to send you a PM, I'll send you my email so we can discuss. Anyone else?
Hello Casey11 Yes I would definitely love to get in touch. I am very new to this website and I am stilling trying to figure it out. I think i've added you as a friend but I may be wrong. Sorry. Its funny because my bf lives in the Nor Cal area also so I know he will want to visit me too. Congratulations to all those who have gotten in and to those who have not do not forget there is still place if people are choosing other school. There is hope and don't lose it.
Well, I've heard that entry level Master's programs are essentially the same thing as a BSN, but I'm not sure...
well, ucla's mecn program is a two year commitment, and msm's is just one year. i'm not sure about the "pull" the masters brings, but i'd like to think it would help if later you wanted to go into teaching.
I took the philosophy of religion offered at el camino college, not sure if its in the summer or not, good luck! :)i'm still waiting for them to review one of my pre-reqs hopefully they will tell me on monday if its good otherwise i have to to just take communications this summer.
thanks for your help. i'm heading to ecc right now. good luck on your pre-reqs. btw, why do you have to take communications?
I'm deciding between CSULB and MSMC.. So far, it seems like MSMC has a better reputation even though it costs an arm and a leg. I thought I decided on CSULB (because its closer and cheaper), however, my aunt who's an OR nurse at Cedars Sinai commented that when they receive applications from a MSMC graduate, they don't interview them, they just hire them because of the level of training that the students exhibit. I also spoke to a nurse from Long Beach Memorial who said that when CSULB students start the program (esp. the EL MSN students), they don't have the same skills as students that come from a community college. YIKES! Thoughts on this anyone???

dmskoka, Thanks for the encouragement! I'm trying to not lose hope just yet, but the wait is making me so anxious!
