Mount St. Mary's College ABSN Summer 2015

Howdy,

This is a thread for anyone who is applying to the MSMC ABSN program for summer 2015 admission, or anyone who has first hand knowledge of the program.

I'm an out-of-towner who has applied to the program and will be moving to the Los Angeles area from Texas in a couple months. I'm so excited! I heard they will be starting interviews soon and am praying that I get one. I have applied to a couple other schools but I am really hoping to get in the program at the Mount.

I wanted to get some advice on the admissions process: how long will it take before we know if we've been accepted, is there anything I should know that would benefit me during the process, how difficult is the pre-entry math exam, etc. I am hoping to connect with other applicants and use this as a forum to support each other.

I will also be new to the city and could use some friends :) Good luck to all applicants and I can't wait (hopefully) to be a MSMC student!!!

Hi! I don't mean to interrupt your thread, but I'm looking to apply to MSMU once I finish my pre-reqs and was wondering if you took your religion classes at a community college or can you only take them at MSMU?

You can take it at community college or online. Just make sure to check with the counselor. I withdrew my application from the Mount. Prereqs are expensive at the Mount, if I am not mistaken.

Hi:

If you are talking about the upper division bio ethics course, I took at MSMU. I highly suggest you take it once you get into the program, but before the program starts. It is way cheaper and less stressful. I would take a pre-reps at a community college because it is cheaper. Good luck.

Hello calimcf,

I will be attending MSMU Summer 2016 and was wondering if you can share your experience? Is there anything I should do before I start (reviewing/reading)? Any heads up and tips to make nursing school a bit more tolerable? Also, the program is quite costly how you were able to situate the financial part of it?
