This is a thread for anyone who is applying to the MSMC ABSN program for summer 2015 admission, or anyone who has first hand knowledge of the program.
I'm an out-of-towner who has applied to the program and will be moving to the Los Angeles area from Texas in a couple months. I'm so excited! I heard they will be starting interviews soon and am praying that I get one. I have applied to a couple other schools but I am really hoping to get in the program at the Mount.
I wanted to get some advice on the admissions process: how long will it take before we know if we've been accepted, is there anything I should know that would benefit me during the process, how difficult is the pre-entry math exam, etc. I am hoping to connect with other applicants and use this as a forum to support each other.
I will also be new to the city and could use some friends :) Good luck to all applicants and I can't wait (hopefully) to be a MSMC student!!!
I just interviewed on Monday, and the interviewer said that they are hoping to finish up the interviews by next week! So I'm guessing we'll hear something maybe end of January? This waiting process is so nerve wracking!!
Hmm I wonder if they'll let some people know next week then-last semester I found out some people had been accepted right before I interviewed! I was so nervous!
ajk003 ya at least 6-7 people posted about it the day I interviewed-there seemed to be 2 groups of interviews, and I was in the second group. Don't sweat it though, because they still admitted lots of people in the later batch. And a lot of people don't pass the Math test-I got a 93 on mine last time (havent called to get the most recent one yet) and I know people from the most recent cohort that got in the 70's and got accepted!
So if we do not hear anything by this week, we pretty much got rejected? Since they are rounding up interviews next week. Oh Mount St. Mary's University.
Calnurse90, I got the interview invite through email. If you have already interviewed, you can check webportal under admission status to see if you've been accepted. They are still interviewing through next week, so if you haven't interviewed there's still hope! I got interview invite last Thursday, and interviewed this Monday.
