Mount St. Mary's ABSN 2011 applicants

Applying to MSMC's 2011 absn program? Yeah, me too. Just wanted to hearing from others in the same boat.

Congratulations everyone.

If you don't mind, would those accepted be willing to post their GPAs and TEAS stats? I'd love to have an idea of where I stand right now.

Congrats all around to everyone who got their packets in the mail and the happy notification on WebAdvisor!

I have two sets of books for the Taylor Bioethics class. I HIGHLY recommend taking it now!!!! I found out within two months of classes starting, buy you have the advantage of taking a little more time to get it all done. Our fellow cohorts who didn't take the bioethics prior to school starting are really feeling the added pressure this week.

See you on campus!

I got in!! Would those who have gotten accepted be interested in creating a Facebook group or email list serve? Maybe we can try and get some people together for drinks before the program starts.

Congrats Jo_Fitz! I agree, a Facebook group or a email list would be a great idea. I will make one tomorrow and post the link on this thread so everyone in the May '11 cohort can join!

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Just a friendly Terms of Service reminder.......

You can post the name of the Facebook page but not the link.

Hi All,

Has anyone taken the Taylor class yet or started it? I'm curious how intensive it is. I'm currently working part time and planning my wedding which is in 6 weeks. Will it be too much for me to handle? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I would love to join the cohort group, I'll have to search for it or maybe private message to find the link?

Thanks all!

Lisa

Yukikon, i am withdrawing my application to CU as well as MSMC was my first choice anyway. I feel like there's so much to figure out now. Can't wait for orientation!

LJ815, I have decided not to take the Taylor University bioethics class. I too, work full time right now, trying to save as much money as I can before I quit my job for the program. I'm not sure how intense the class is, but my friend who graduated in 2008 from MSMC's ABSN program said that MSMC's bioethics class IS manageable to take during the program. Of course it's better if you have the time and commitment to complete it before the program, but I just don't feel like I will be successful in that class working full-time and only having less than 3 months to complete it. What is everyone else doing?

Btw, I just created a group on facebook under "MSMC ABSN May '11 Cohort". I've never created a group so I'm not even sure if the privacy settings allow people to search for it, but let me know if you can't find it.

Thanks Yuki, I found the group and sent a request to join!

I'm still undecided about Taylor Univ. at the moment.

I am going to take the Taylor bioethics class before class starts. I'll probably start in a couple weeks or so.

I was just curious, does anyone know if they're making the move out to LA? I live in Orange County, so commuting is doable, but I know it will be a hassle with traffic and all.

mnicole, I live in Orange County too, and I'm currently in the process of looking for apartments in LA. Are you going to commute? I feel like commuting will really take a lot of time away from my study time.
