Mount Sinai PSON ABSN Fall 2022

Published

I haven't seen any threads for the Mount Sinai ABSN Fall 2022 entry yet so I figured I would make one. I know the deadline isn't for a few months but the application has been open since August. Has anyone who already applied heard back yet?

Those of you that have accepted or will accept- what would make you choose mt Sinai over another program? Paces 11 month program is appealing because of how quick it is but I can’t decide if that’s more stressful/worth it if I were to be accepted.

Hey everyone ! Did everyone here get accepted already? I haven't even finished my app yet LOL.

I got into NYU but chose Mt Sinai even before I got accepted to NYU because of the price. It just seems so pragmatic!

I chose it because it is hospital based, so I figured they are probably used to having students and it will make for a better clinical learning experience. I also remember them saying during an info session that a lot of students end up finding jobs within Mt Sinai which is reassuring.

Does anyone currently attend Mount Sinai and can they share their experience?

thank you for the tip! I'll look into taking pharm first. I know the program is hybrid but how often are you actually going in for classes/clinicals? I am trying to work out where to look for apartments and don't want to have too long of a commute.

Hello I know I’m late but I just got accepted! If you don’t mind can you please share what your schedule looked like for the 1st semester? I’m hoping I can still work at least part time while still in the program. I called the office but they didn’t really give me much of an answer. I work M-F 9-5am I’m actually also an employee at the hospital.

Classes are M-F and last about 4 hours each and occur once a week but you may not have class all 5 days. The schedule changes semester by semester depending on when the professors are able to teach them. Basic Skills and Health Assessment have a lab component attached to them but how often you go in will probably be different from how often we went in (we had lab 2x in the entire semester for Basic Skills and about every other week for Health Assessment). Clincials also do not start until the second semester.

How long after you submitted your app were you notified about your acceptance?

my application got verified by NursingCAS on 04/13 and I got an acceptance letter on 04/18.

Had anyone tried to do the background and drug testing by the link given in the instructions. Cause the link wouldn't load.

I was able to use the link in early Feb and it just let me log into my account today. I would recommend scheduling the drug screen now because the lab code they give you expires 2 days after you submit the background check. I had to reschedule mine a few times because the labs near me were booked so far out and I didn't get a new code in time so it was stressful ?
