Mount Sinai PSON ABSN Fall 2021

Starting the thread since I could only find Summer 2021z Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for their ABSN program starting Fall 2021? Where else did you apply? Share stats if comfortable, you know the drill! Thanks!

For accepted students, can you please let us know when you submitted your application and how long it took for you to hear back? Can you please share stats too? 

My undergrad was 3.19 and my pre-reqs are 3.73 with 2 years of healthcare experience.

Hey! I applied April 1st and got an acceptance on May 13th. Our stats are almost identical. Good luck ?

So I was told that as of now lectures are online.. but they won’t know if they are converting back to person until like end of June they are making a decision. If anyone finds out further info about this please let me know! 
 

also does anyone know if there’s parking for students? He didn’t know

Hi all.

I submitted my application March 30th and still have not heard back. My friend who submitted the same date as me was accepted May 13th.

My cumulative GPA is 3.5 while pre-req is 3.7. I also have 2 years of experience in a nursing home as well some shadowing experience at a hospital.

Does anyone know if they will accept Intro to Philosophy as an Ethics course since that is what I put. Right now I'm micro analyzing every part of my application.

 

Also, anyone else waiting?

I sent a syllabus for my Ethics course and they approved it over email. Send it to them and check!

May I ask you what the name of your ethics course was? Mine was simply intro to philosophy

Mine was called “Moral Choices”... it was a philosophy class offered by my undergraduate. When I asked about the course covering the Ethics pre-requisite, Mount Sinai asked for a syllabus so they could know more about the course. I reached out to the instructor and she quickly sent me the syllabus.

I really appreciate your response. No one from the school has asked me for my syllabus and that’s why I haven’t sent it to them. I was just worried because it’s a philosophy class and ethics was not in the name. 
 

still no decision yet So I’m worried this is the reason why

You’re welcome. I asked before I even submitted my application just to be sure! Reach out and ask because it will make you feel better.

Does your course mention anything pertaining to ethics? For my course, it's listed under the philosophy department but its "Intro to Ethics" which was accepted by PSON via email when I asked. There was a separate course that was actually called  "Intro to philosophy" that I don't believe counts for ethics requirement.

Well I took this class in 2018 and have submitted my application a while so I think at this point I’m at the schools mercy. 
 

Wouldn’t  the school have reached out to me if there was any issue regarding my use of intro to philosophy?
