Starting the thread since I could only find Summer 2021z Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for their ABSN program starting Fall 2021? Where else did you apply? Share stats if comfortable, you know the drill! Thanks!
Hi all, I received my acceptance today! I submitted my application mid-April and it was verified the next day. I have 2 prereqs in progress and I have little healthcare experience (I.e. I volunteered at a hospital during undergrad for a semester/semester and a half). My cum GPA is about a 3.26 and I have a prereq GPA of 3.75. Congrats to everyone who has gotten in so far and good luck to those still waiting!
Just now, juliad96 said:Did anyone who applied in like Jan / feb still not hear anything? I’m starting to get worried. Everyone accepted applied much later than me and I have heard absolutely nothing in months. I even emailed them about a month ago and they never replied.
Hi Julia I’m in sort of the same position as you. I’ve applied on February 24th and still nothing yet. But try not to worry so much, maybe we’ll hear something very soon hopefully! ?
To those already accepted - congratulations! Seems so far that they aren't necessarily batching notifications, but that they're going out rather randomly.
If you received a notification, can you please share how it came to you? Via email, and if so, from who? Or did you just log onto your NursingCAS portal and see an admissions decision?
Much appreciate it.

I received my acceptance through email from the school. I didn’t check NursingCAS at all after I submitted my application.
Thanks so much for the response, @Abnurse96. Did you receive the notification from a NursingCAS address or a representative at Mt. Sinai (I've seen others mention a Mr. Le, I believe)? My inbox is a total disaster and I've been keeping my eyes peeled, and don't want to miss out on a notification!

I received my acceptance from [email protected]. Nursing didn’t reach out to me at all.
Hi everyone,
I was lurking on this sub but just received my acceptance today! It came from PSON and was very simple.
I applied April 1st, completed all pre-reqs, GPA is around 3.7 something and I do not have any healthcare experience although I do have CNA training.
Yay! I think if you applied earlier than April maybe you should reach out again? Each accepted person has two weeks to decide so maybe in two weeks they will send out another round of acceptances to replace those who declined the offer...
good luck everyone ! ?
Congrats to those of you who have been accepted these last couple of days!
This is not exactly related to the program... but seeing how much medical experience there is among you, I'm starting to think about Plan B in case I'm not accepted. Would some of you be willing to share what kind of medical-related volunteer jobs and/or certifications you'd suggest that are affordable and accessible? Any suggestions for a path towards more medical experience that is do-able in a short amount of time? I feel both overwhelmed and discouraged by the lack of knowledge about what's out there. Any hints for how to get started so that if I were to re-apply next year, I'd be a stronger candidate?
I'd be SO grateful! Feel free to email me privately instead, too: [email protected]
Continued best of luck, everyone!
Hi all,
I asked before and am not sure if I got a response.
I noticed that some people were taking classes through Portage. What is the reasoning for this and did the school require you to do so/did they recommend you to take it? I saw that some students were taking Pharmacology. Are there any other courses that people are taking through Portage now? Thanks so much
