Mount Sinai ABSN Summer 2020

Hi all,

Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?

What do you mean by "stupid" levels of resources available? I'm deciding between NYU and PSON for Fall '20.

“Stupid” in this context means they have “a lot” or “many” resources available .

Hey guys!I got rejected from SUNY Downstate and still waiting for decision from NYU. I'm trying to apply to the program just in case since they extended the deadline but I'm a little confused with what they mean by "ethics" as I haven't heard of any other schools asking for it. Would Sociology, Philosophy or Moral Issues in Business satisfy the requirement? I e-mailed the admissions last week but yet to receive the response

Hi , so Ethics is a philosophy class . I asked if my general philosophy course was OK and PSON said no . I am currently taking the Ethics course on portage learning . You should take it there . I am sure you can complete it before the deadline (July 31st), if you focus on it.

&also, how do you know you were rejected from SUNY downstate ? Did you received an email or a letter in the mail ? I haven’t heard back from them at all.

@Jacksterty95 Thank you so much for your response. Didn't think I would have to take another class but I guess I might as well try. I applied to Downstate in November and they rejected me at the end of March (got e-mail). They offered me admission to Master's in Public Health program though which is not exactly what I am aiming for LOL. If you haven't heard anything maybe they are still considering you! Good luck:)

Was it an email or a physical letter ? I just looked at my application online and it still says “screening in process.”

@Jacksterty95 it was e-mail. Mine also still says "screening in process' LOL. They have new system and don't always update it.

On behalf of the Admissions Committee and the Dean of the College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University would like to thank you for applying to the Accelerated BS in Nursing program. After a comprehensive review of all of your credentials, the Committee regrets that it is unable to offer you admission to the class entering Summer. The Committee has made this decision after careful deliberation, and it is final.

Decisions regarding admission are always difficult, even more so in health programs, where there is a high level of interest and many qualified applicants compete for a limited number of seats.

Our Admissions Committee evaluates, comparatively, every applicant's prior academic performance, particularly in the sciences; successful completion of prerequisite course work; standardized test scores, (when required); communication skills; recommendations; and motivation for the chosen profession.

In some instances, it is possible for a candidate to improve their competitive standing in subsequent admissions cycle by making suggested improvements to their academic record in either the overall, prerequisite or science courses. The college provides such general information on our web page or during open house and information sessions. You may consider taking advantage of such opportunities to learn ways for possibly improving your overall applications package.

Is anyone going to the main campus in May to get their uniforms measured? Has anyone ordered them online so far?

I am going to try. If I am able to get into the New York city safetly I will go. I also I have to go get my ID. Did anyone get their ID yet?
