Hey Everyone,
I thought I would start a page for the fall 2019 cohort Mount Sinai. Looking forward to hearing all your thoughts. I applied just recently. I’m waiting to hear back. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Best,
FD

Not at all silly. I am in the program currently, and I even heard this advise from former students. Recording her lectures will benefit you. Staff is an 8.5/10. Sometimes, there are discrepancies. Some classes offer independent lecture days, where u can stay at home and work from there. Teaching style depends on each professor. Some just read off, while others just leave it on the back and engage you in the lecture.
Hi Mimi!
Thank you for the tips so far. It’s much appreciated!!
Can I ask an additional question. How long did the financial processing take? I know they should be running the background checks about now. But I did reach out but they said they haven’t start yet with the Fall cohort for the financing part.

Since you are in the fall cohort, like I was, I waited till the end of September to finalize everything. They even gave out scholarship info too. SO don't worry. I think they are still processing for our summer semester of continuing students and the new ABSN cohort that started this semester. It will take some time.
Oh wow! Well I am manifesting a scholarship somehow. I mean anything can happen.. You just have to believe! TBH I never even thought two years ago when I started to take my prerequisites that I will be in this position. I just knew I wanted to make the switch and followed it. It still feels so surreal! I still feel like I am dreaming.
I am currently rapping up microbiology and nutrition. My micro prof gave us one last talking to and for first the first I felt scared and nervous!
A loan to cover the program cost is definitely an option. I am believing all will workout. I will have to part ways with my job in July. So I am saving as much as I can possible save at this point.
Thanks again for joining the conversation. I will definitely pay it forward when I am on your end. ??

Also spoke with some people who went to PSON (not ABSN) and they had nothing but amazing things to say about the program. One PSON alumni messaged me that "everyone I work with always asks me where I went to school. They always tell me they an see a difference especially when we do rounds and talk about patients care. Always say how knowledgeable and thorough I am. I was def taught that at school...)
Thanks for posting this reflection. I’ve been anxious to hear back from other programs that I applied to, but was accepted to PSON and now need to make a decision myself. It’s hard to find accounts of student experience during the program, but the little bits I find do seem very positive!!
