Mount Saint Mary's ABSN FALL 2011

Published

Just reaching out to other fellow nursing students who applied for this coming Fall 2011 ABSN program at Mount Saint Mary's (Los Angeles)...I completed my application a few weeks ago.

I interviewed on Wednesday and it was really not that stressful. They asked questions related to the program: What you're current life responsibilities are? (i.e. do you have too much on your plate right now). What Pre-req's you have left to complete? Why you want to go into Nursing? What is your top school that you are applying to? Explain an ethical problem that you've dealt with in the past? She was also willing to answer questions about the program at the end.

She said I should expect to hear an answer by the end of second week in June if all goes according to schedule. She also explained that they were running behind this year because they were waiting on materials from Admissions until recently.

Thanks, fab.prab . . . I've heard similar accounts of the interview process.... doesn't seem stressful at all.

Do you know if scholarships are still being awarded to the top students after the first semester? Did they mention anything about how many of their graduates are job offered?

I didn't think to ask that, but I would be very interested to find out as well! I know those scholarships are still listed as a possibility on the msmc.la.edu website, so hopefully they are. Good luck and I hope you hear from them soon! It would be fun if we all got in the program together! :)

Thank you for the information!

Thanks, I'm going to need it. I'm most nervous about the ethical dilemma question, crossing my finger that they won't ask me! :) I just responded to her email and asked for the Thursday time slot.

I spoke to the director and transfer counselor at a health conference last friday and they said they are really backed up this year due to the amount of applications that were received. So I'm pretty sure they are still sending interview emails out. Hope you get your letter soon!! I'll be crossing my fingers for you! :)
