Motlow State 2013 Hopefuls

Hi, would anyone like to start a thread on getting into Motlow State's Nursing program this fall? I wish everyone luck.

When is our actual first day of class? I know we have orientation the 20th.

I have been working two jobs also but for two years. Lol. I will be quitting my surgical tech job right before we go back to school though. Just been trying to pay off bills and buy books and get tuition! Ugh! I have about 4 more books to get. I also heard we should get a meddeck which really helps with when we start going over meds. They are pretty cheap on amazon though.

I understand. Everything is just SO expensive!

That's great! My 2nd dose is still saying 'pending.' I submitted it on Thursday. If its not marked 'complete' tomorrow, I'll email the secretary.

I had to call three or four times to get them to approve all my things! I found out I just had to talk to the right person apparently. I really don't know why we couldn't have turned it into the school instead of using this third party system. All my items are approved though it was just a lot of hassle getting them to do it!

I still haven't gotten all my books and stuff yet. I was in between jobs this summer so I have been struggling just to pay for all this stuff... The shots, doctors appointments, plus all the online things that charged fees have really put a dent in my wallet! Now I can focus on getting the books and things.

I am excited for our next orientation! :) I finally feel excited about school now that this record tracker stuff is over with!!

I received my CPR card in the mail yesterday. I scanned and uploaded it today. My submission of my 2nd dose STILL had not been 'approved!!!!!!' Grrrrrr!

I feel you on the struggling to pay for everything part! I still have about 3 books left to get. And trying to get the money up to pay my tuition! ? I still need one set of scrubs and a lab coat and a blood pressure cuff. After that I should be good.

I still have two items as 'pending.' I just sent an email to the secretary to inform her that I have indeed completed those two requirements.

Well just 20 more days to go. Has anyone had any communication with the nursing department? It's kind of like hey just show up and you will find out what happens. Lol. Maybe I'm just getting to anxious to get started.
